The Position

At our location in Kaiseraugst, we will be offering a variety of exciting internship opportunities from February 2027. The Kaiseraugst production site is a cornerstone in Roche's global production and logistics network. Over 2,000 people are employed here and the site is home to Roche's largest and most innovative packaging operation in the world.

The Opportunity

As part of PTDS Global Clinical Supply Chain Management, the Production Enablement function ensures that packaging operations can produce material required by Roche’s clinical trials seamlessly, on-time, and while optimizing cost/quality.

Within Production Enablement the Global Clinical Artwork Manager is  responsible for designing label artwork for a global portfolio of Investigational Medicinal Products (IMP). They collaborate with Local Label Representatives (LLRs) in various countries to ensure label content meets the applicable regulations in the associated country. These labels can be used for internal manufacturing or used at a Contract Manufacturing Organization (CMO). The Global Clinical Artwork Manager is responsible for ordering the  required labels for scheduled manufacturing operations. In general, is responsible for managing all aspects of clinical label creation and controls the life cycle of all

kind of clinical artwork labels.

They  interface with the global Clinical Planning organization, manufacturing execution teams, external vendors, the global network of Local Label Representatives (LLRs) and the Quality organization as part of their daily tasks.

As an intern in the PTDS-Global Competency Center Production Enablement department at the Kaiseraugst production site, you will support the team in a variety of matters. In this internship you will:

 

  • Create and revise labeling artwork for Investigational Medicinal Products (IMP) and ensure label contents meet all medical, legal and regulatory requirements.

  • Accountable for the clinical label life cycle for various label types, for example, booklet labels, single panel labels, shelf-life extension labels, and new or unique labels.

  • Represent the label team in cross-functional and production meetings and projects.

  • Collaborate with various internal functional group members and external suppliers to provide labeling solutions in support of domestic and global clinical trials.

  • Actively participates in global and local projects and kaizens to optimize Clinical Supply. In some cases, leads projects specifically to improve the label processes and systems.

  • Communicate timelines and provide project updates to customers, global manufacturing sites, and internal and external business partners.

  • Drives and leads issue resolution in the label creation process with the label print room, external vendors, and other key stakeholders.

  • Driving the label approval process, granting timely content approval by all Label Representatives

  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement improvements to the labeling process, quality, systems and policies using the Lean Production System (LPS) principles.

  • Develop expert level skills in the applicable software used for label creation (i.e. SAP Global Label Management

  • Maintain label master data in the appropriate systems

  • Accountable for ordering labels from vendors and monitor order status and availability.

  • Actively monitors Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for team performance, vendors, and in-house label printing activities and works independently to develop ideas and initiates continuous improvements

Additional accountabilities/responsibilities as per assignment

  • Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) SPOC is driving the monthly performance review meeting with the external booklet vendors. Is responsible for the continuous improvement of the processes and performance. Participates in Service Level Agreement adaptations. Acts as main contact for general questions of our booklet vendors related to the Roche label creation activities.

  • supporting the New Capabilities Team developing new label capabilities and emerging label technologies including  coordination of the development and testing with the external vendors 

  • Collaborate with the Artificial Intelligence Community of Practice to bring AI use cases alive

Who are you

You are enrolled or have completed your studies at a university or technical college, preferably in the field of pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical or Supply Chain Management, within the last 12 months and are interested in using your knowledge as part of a 12-month internship in a modern working environment and getting to know the pharmaceutical industry.

You will also round off your profile with the following skills:

  • Solid understanding of the Pharma Supply Chain and clinical packaging processes 

  • High cultural awareness and social competence required as cooperation and communication in complex situations with different cultures and countries is part of the daily job.

  • Well-developed teamwork, collaboration, and negotiation skills 

  • Possess problem solving and decision making skills, high attention to detail, and understanding of systems and technical designs

  • Full use and application of basic Supply Chain/Business Process/cGMP theories, principles, and techniques

  • Ability to adhere to procedures and standards in a GMP environment

  • Ability to manage projects from initiation to delivery

  • Ability to work independently and set priorities. Self-motivated, proactive, quick thinking, adaptable. 

  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally both in writing and verbally  (Excellent English skills 

  • Customer-focused, ability to create trustful relationships with business partners.

  • Ability to quickly learn a broad range of skills

Preferred Experience

  • 1+  years experience in the pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical industry  and/or Supply Chain Management,

  • Experience with SAP ERP systems beneficial

Additional Information

  • Non-EU/EFTA citizens must attach a confirmation from the university that they have to do a mandatory internship as part of the training.

  • Part-time employment of at least 70% is possible at this position. Writing a thesis is also possible at this internship.
