This is a paid internship; however, the intern must provide their own housing and transportation. Business related transportation and expenses will be paid by the organization. This internship requires working 15+ hours/week from October 2026 – May 2027. This position is open to Mankato office location. If pursuing internship credit through your university, it is your responsibility to consult with your advisor and review the internship's job description to ensure it meets the minimum eligibility requirements.

The contributions you will make: This position will experience what it’s like to be part of a corporate communications team supporting a financial services provider for agriculture and rural communities. Learning will come through a variety of tasks that further team member awareness and contribute to a strong internal culture.
A typical day:
- Update editorial calendars and develop content for digital message boards
- Research and draft articles for corporate intranet
- Assist team members with executing communication plans
- Develop PowerPoint slides for use in presentations
- Gather metrics and update reports
- Summarize large group meetings from transcripts and recordings
- Assist with photo and video shoots as needed
- Attend team meetings and participate in cross-functional workgroups
The skills and experience we prefer you have:
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree with a major in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or Marketing.
- Possess a high degree of initiative and resourcefulness in completing work, with limited guidance.
- Strong listening, verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in photo editing, video production and/or graphic design preferred.
- Accuracy and attention to detail.
- Good interpersonal skills; ability to initiate and maintain professional conversations.
- Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently.
- Skills in using Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Proven ability to demonstrate solid judgment and flexibility and thrive in a fast-paced, multifaceted environment.
How we will take care of you:
Actual hourly rate offered is dependent upon year in school, work experience, transferable skills, business needs and market demands. The hourly rate range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
