  • Translate scientific, clinical, patient, competitive, access, and Japan-market insights into clear strategic priorities, evidence gaps, objectives, and measurable outcomes.
  • Provide strategic leadership for portfolio, compound, product-development, lifecycle, launch, and business plans, ensuring alignment across Medical Affairs, R&D, Commercial, Market Access, Regulatory, and regional/global partners.
  • Lead or support the Integrated Evidence Generation Plan, including prioritization and oversight of company-sponsored studies, collaborative studies, real-world evidence, and other value-oriented research.
  • Guide publication and scientific communication strategy, including manuscripts, congress presentations, and communication of Medical Affairs study results.
  • Lead competitive intelligence and external-environment assessment to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and innovative solutions affecting the Immunology portfolio.
  • Build and maintain effective partnerships with key opinion leaders, patient organizations, scientific societies, and other external stakeholders; plan and execute advisory boards and other insight-generation activities.
  • Collaborate with regional and global Medical Affairs counterparts to represent Japan needs, shape strategy, and enable timely local implementation.
  • Ensure coordinated and high-quality execution of medical and scientific activities, with appropriate governance, resource prioritization, risk management, and progress monitoring.
  • Ensure all Medical Affairs activities comply with applicable Japanese legislation, local regulatory requirements, industry codes, Health Care Compliance requirements, company policies, and Credo values.
  • Influence and align cross-functional stakeholders through clear strategic recommendations, effective presentations, and sound business judgment.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Minimum Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, medicine, pharmacy, or a related discipline required; an advanced life-sciences degree such as MD, PharmD, or PhD is preferred.
  • At least five years of relevant pharmaceutical-industry experience in Medical Affairs, clinical development/R&D, marketing, or a comparable function; three to five years of Immunology or related therapeutic-area experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing medical, clinical-research, evidence-generation, publication, or scientific-communication strategies.
  • Understanding of clinical-study operations and execution, including company-sponsored, collaborative, and value-oriented research.
  • Deep understanding of Japanese regulatory policy, pharmaceutical promotion requirements, clinical-research standards, and relevant industry codes of practice.
  • Business-level proficiency in Japanese and English, with strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a matrix organization, influence without direct authority, and collaborate with a broad range of local, regional, global, and external stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical ability, strategic thinking, business acumen, and demonstrated capability to evaluate complex situations, identify trends and gaps, and develop creative, practical solutions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.

 Other requirements

  • People-leadership capability and experience setting direction, aligning contributors, coaching others, and creating accountability for delivery are preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality outcomes within tight timelines and changing business conditions.
  • Commitment to patient-centered decision-making, scientific integrity, ethical conduct, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
