À titre d’ingénieur en systèmes d’énergie, vous participerez à la définition initiale et à la spécification électrique des équipements de circuit principal utilisés dans les postes de conversion HVDC et les installations associées, de la phase d’appel d’offres jusqu’à l’exécution des projets. Vous contribuerez à des activités telles que les études initiales, les schémas unifilaires, les calculs de base, les études de fiabilité, de disponibilité et de maintenabilité, les études d’évaluation ainsi que la définition des concepts de contrôle et de protection dans les systèmes HVDC. Le poste implique l’interprétation des exigences des clients et leur traduction en dessins d’ingénierie et en exigences techniques destinées aux équipes d’ingénierie collaborant avec le département de conception des circuits principaux. Vous participerez aux réunions de projet, présenterez des sujets liés à l’ingénierie et collaborerez avec des professionnels à travers différents projets et disciplines. Par votre contribution au développement et à l’exécution d’infrastructures HVDC, vous contribuerez à la performance, à la fiabilité et à l’évolution continue des systèmes de transport d’énergie.

Votre impact

• Définir les spécifications électriques des équipements de circuit principal dans les postes de conversion HVDC.

Votre profil

• Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in Canada.
• Baccalauréat ou maîtrise en génie électrique, en génie des systèmes d’énergie électrique ou dans un domaine connexe.
• Plus de 2 ans d’expérience dans la conception et la spécification d’équipements haute tension.
• Expérience avec les équipements haute tension ou la réalisation d’études d’évaluation d’équipements haute tension.
• Capacité à évoluer dans un environnement de travail international et multiculturel et à transformer les exigences des clients en livrables d’ingénierie.
• Maîtrise de l’anglais, à l’oral et à l’écrit.
• La connaissance du français constitue un atout.

The Opportunity

As a Power System Engineer, you will support the initial definition and electrical specification of main circuit equipment used in HVDC converter stations and associated yards, from the tender phase through project execution. You will contribute to activities such as initial studies, single line drawings, basic calculations, reliability, availability and maintainability studies, rating studies, and the definition of concepts for control and protection design within HVDC systems. The role involves interpreting customer requirements and translating them into engineering drawings and technical requirements for cross-functional engineering teams. You will participate in project meetings, present engineering-related topics, and collaborate with professionals across projects and disciplines. Through the development and execution of HVDC infrastructure, you will contribute to the performance, reliability, and ongoing advancement of power transmission systems.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Define electrical specifications for main circuit equipment in HVDC converter stations.
• Provide technical support for tenders and project execution activities.
• Perform initial studies, develop single line drawings, and complete basic calculations.
• Interpret customer specifications and translate requirements into engineering documentation.

Your Background

• Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in Canada
• Bachelor’s or MSc degree in Electric Power Engineering or a related field.
• 2+ years of experience with the design and specification of high voltage equipment.
• Experience working with high voltage equipment or performing studies related to the rating of high voltage equipment.
• Ability to work within an international and multicultural environment and translate customer requirements into engineering deliverables.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
• French language capability is an asset.
