Job position summary:

The Individual Placement and Support (IPS) Specialist delivers Supported Employment services and job placement assistance to individuals, who desire to find meaningful work thru the establishment of partnerships with local businesses and Vocational Rehabilitation, alongside the IPS Program Manager and other IPS Specialists.

Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

Individual Placement and Support Specialist (Supported Employment)

Minimum Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Social Work, Psychology, or some related field
• Associate's degree with an additional 2 or more years' experience working with educating and teaching clients about self-care, improving daily living activities
• Total combined years of schooling and experience (working with educating and teaching clients about self-care, improving daily living activities) equals 4 or more years.

Required License/Certifications/Registrations

• If the individual does not have current case management training the employee must complete, within 30 days, CPST Case Management on-line training, KHS on-line training. Within 60 days of employment, the employee must have completed Adult Case Management training.
• Valid driver’s license, insurance and a dependable vehicle

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, or Special Education (with specialized training in human development and family dynamics).
• Relevant experience regarding education about employment practices, job placement, interview skills, resume building.
• Experience building partnerships with community partners.

Preferred License/Certifications/Registrations

• Current MANDT certification

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strong organizational skills.
• Good time management skills.
• Experience working with educating/teaching clients about improving daily living skills and implementing newly learned skills.
• Proficient in electronic documentation, good computer proficiency.

Physical Requirements:

With or without accommodation.

• Light Work: Occasionally exerting up to 25 lbs - frequently exerting up to 10 lbs. 11-25% of the day may be standing or walking.
