About This Opportunity 

Join UQ in creating change together through a pioneering inclusive testing program that places people with lived experience of access needs at the centre of digital product development. As the Inclusive Testing Coordinator, you will lead the day-to-day operation of UQ’s inclusive testing panel, ensuring accessibility and usability testing is delivered consistently, safely and respectfully. Working within a collaborative, inclusive and high-performing team, you will facilitate testing sessions, support a small team of Inclusive Accessibility Testers, and transform participant insights into meaningful improvements that help shape better digital experiences for the entire UQ community. Key responsibilities will include:

• Planning and facilitating accessibility and usability testing sessions across a range of UQ digital products and services.

• Supervising and supporting a small team of casual Inclusive Accessibility Testers, including onboarding, rostering and day-to-day guidance.

• Coordinating participant adjustments, consent processes, privacy requirements and wellbeing considerations to ensure safe and inclusive participation.

• Producing clear, prioritised findings and recommendations that help project, product and development teams improve accessibility outcomes.

About You

Some skills you may bring to the role include:

• Demonstrated experience facilitating user research, usability testing, accessibility testing, consultation or similar structured sessions with participants from diverse backgrounds.

• Demonstrated experience supervising, coordinating or leading a small team, including scheduling, allocation of work, onboarding and day to day support, or clearly transferable experience.

• Sound working knowledge of digital accessibility concepts and standards, including the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, Inclusive and Universal design, and of the barriers commonly encountered by people with disability, neurodivergent people, and people using assistive technologies.

• Practical familiarity with assistive technologies and access settings such as screen readers, screen magnification, text to speech, speech recognition, alternative input devices, captioning and operating system accessibility features.

• Highly developed interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to create a respectful, safe and inclusive environment for participants sharing lived experience.

• Sound judgement in relation to privacy, confidentiality, informed consent and the handling of sensitive personal information.

• Strong written communication skills, including the ability to produce plain language materials and clear, actionable summaries of findings for technical and non-technical audiences.

• Ability to work independently with limited supervision, manage competing scheduling demands, and exercise initiative in resolving day to day issues.
