Our client, a Crop Science Innovation company, is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Systems Administrator to provide essential support to their team. The Systems Administrator will be be responsible for designing, organising, modifying, and supporting the technology systems in the organisation.

Key Responsibilities 

• Administer servers, laptop and desktop computers, printers, company mobile phones, smartphones, software deployment, security updates and patches 
• Ensure all servers are backed-up and replication is consistent to maintain data integrity 
• Manage selected cloud solutions. 
• Manage server resources on the Storage Area Network (SAN) 
• Maintain the essentials such as operating systems, business applications, security tools, active directory, email 
• Ensure design of systems to allow all components to work properly together 
• Make recommendations for future upgrades in line with modern trends. 
• Maintain network and system security.
• Troubleshoot problems reported by users and analyse and isolate issues 
• Evaluate and modify system’s performance 
• Maintain network facilities in individual machines, such as drivers and settings of personal computers as well as printers 
• Maintain integrity of the network, server deployment, and security 
• Design and deploy networks; Maintain network servers such as file servers, and VPN gateways 
• Assign configuration of authentication and authorisation of directory services 

Requirements

• Grade 12 Certificate  

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent 
• Member of the Information and Communications Technology Association of Zambia (ICTAZ)
• Microsoft Certified Professional or relevant IT Certification 
• Not less than four (4) years of relevant IT experience at a similar level in an organisation of similar size.
