About the Role
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Human Resources Generalist is the primary on-site HR representative for BOS Innovations LLC (BOS LLC) and is responsible for supporting day-to-day HR operations, U.S. employment compliance, employee relations, Health & Safety, onboarding, HR communications, and employee engagement. This role provides local HR guidance while partnering closely with the Director of Human Resources and the Canadian HR team to maintain consistent BOS practices across locations. The Human Resources Generalist also provides direction to the Office Coordinator and ensures the administrative execution of payroll, benefits, HR, and Health & Safety processes is completed accurately and effectively.

RESPONSIBILITIES
HR Compliance, Policies & Procedures
- Support compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment requirements and partner with the Director of Human Resources on interpretation, risk, and significant HR matters.
- Develop, review, implement, and maintain BOS LLC HR policies, procedures, employee handbook and company onboarding documentation in collaboration with the Director of Human Resources.
- Monitor HR practices and documentation for consistency, compliance, and alignment with BOS standards.
- Provide guidance to employees and leaders on HR policies, procedures, and routine employment matters, escalating complex or sensitive issues as appropriate.
Health & Safety
- Own the day-to-day Health & Safety program for BOS LLC and promote a safe, compliant workplace environment.
- Maintain and improve Health & Safety policies, procedures, programs, and work practices in alignment with applicable OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
- Lead or coordinate workplace inspections, safety walks, hazard identification, corrective actions, emergency preparedness activities, and required safety meetings.
- Coordinate incident and near-miss investigations, documentation, follow-up, and corrective actions in partnership with site leadership and the Director of Human Resources as appropriate.
- Oversee Health & Safety administrative recordkeeping completed by the Office Coordinator and ensure required records are accurate and current.
Employee Relations & Manager Support
- Serve as the first on-site HR resource for routine employee questions, workplace concerns, performance matters, and policy interpretation.
- Provide guidance and support to managers on day-to-day people matters, performance expectations, documentation, and employee communication.
- Participate in investigations, corrective action, and discipline in coordination with the Director of Human Resources.
- Identify emerging workplace issues and escalate significant, complex, or high-risk matters to the Director of Human Resources.
Recruitment, Hiring & Onboarding
- Partner with the Canadian Talent Acquisition Specialist and HR team to support hiring for BOS LLC.
- Provide on-site support for candidate interviews, hiring manager coordination, candidate visits, and other local recruitment activities.
- Own the employee-facing onboarding and orientation experience for BOS LLC new hires.
- Ensure the Office Coordinator completes required onboarding administration, payroll setup, benefits enrollment, HRIS updates, and employee documentation accurately and on time.
- Develop and maintain youth development programs, including post-secondary co-op placements, high school programs, and apprenticeship opportunities to assist with the long-term growth of the teams.
HR Communications & Employee Engagement
- Lead the preparation and coordination of company-wide HR communications for the BOS Group of Companies, including the weekly HR Digest and monthly HR Newsletter, in collaboration with the HR and Marketing teams.
- In connection with Canadian HR team, ensure HR communications reflect current initiatives across BOS Group of Companies while supporting consistent employee awareness and engagement.
- Lead internal event planning for BOS LLC and contribute to broader company-wide employee events, recognition activities, culture initiatives, and engagement efforts.
Payroll, Benefits & HR Operations Oversight
- Act as the U.S. payroll checker by reviewing payroll information for accuracy, completeness, and appropriate supporting documentation prior to final processing.
- Provide backup support for U.S. payroll processing and maintain sufficient knowledge of the process to ensure continuity when required.
- Provide oversight and guidance to the Office Coordinator on payroll, benefits, HR administration, and Health & Safety administration.
- Review HR records, processes, and documentation for accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance.
- Provide Rippling Workforce Management support for BOS LLC, including employee data, workflows, system updates, and user support.
- Prepare and provide Letters of Employment directly to employees as required.
- Own grant applications and tracking for BOS LLC, including required documentation, deadlines, status updates, and follow-up requirements.
- Provide immigration, business travel, and border-crossing letter/document support for U.S. employees travelling to Canada, including preparation of required employer letters and supporting documentation.
- Support HR reporting, workforce metrics, projects, and continuous improvement initiatives as required.
- Perform other related duties and support additional HR, Health & Safety, payroll, and office initiatives as required to support business needs.

Requirements
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3 - 5 years of Human Resources experience, preferably in a manufacturing, automation, engineering, or technical environment.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
- Working knowledge of U.S. employment practices and applicable federal and state employment requirements; Kentucky experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated experience supporting or administering workplace Health & Safety programs; familiarity with OSHA requirements is required.
- Experience supporting employee relations, manager coaching, investigations, performance management, onboarding, and HR policy administration.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with employees and leaders across multiple locations.
- Strong judgment, discretion, organization, conflict-resolution skills, and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems is preferred.
