Job Description

At Eaton, we are committed to powering business success through our people. We are looking for an experienced and commercially focused HR Business Partner to join our HR team in Cheltenham and play a pivotal role in supporting organisational development, leadership capability and employee engagement.

As a trusted advisor to managers and business leaders, the HR Business Partner is responsible for delivering a proactive, commercially focused HR partnering service to designated business areas within MSD division at Eaton, by building strong partnerships across the organisation, providing strategic and operational HR support that drives performance and delivers positive business outcomes. They will work across the full employee lifecycle, helping to attract, develop, engage and retain talent while ensuring a positive employee experience and a high-performance culture.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Business Partnering

  • Build strong, credible relationships with leaders and key stakeholders, acting as a trusted partner on all people-related matters.
  • Provide a proactive, commercial HR partnering service that supports the achievement of business objectives and enhances organisational performance.
  • Coach, influence and challenge leaders to strengthen people management capability and drive effective decision-making.
  • Develop practical and innovative solutions to people challenges that enable business success and support a high-performance culture.

Employee Relations & HR Governance

  • Provide expert guidance and support on employee relations matters, ensuring fair, consistent and legally compliant outcomes.
  • Interpret and apply HR policies, procedures and employment legislation to effectively manage risk and support business needs.
  • Promote best practice across all people management activities, ensuring consistency and compliance across the organisation.
  • Build positive relationships with employee representatives and liaise with the Employee Council where required.

Talent, Succession & Workforce Planning

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to attract, recruit and retain high-calibre talent across the business.
  • Support workforce and succession planning activities to identify critical roles, build talent pipelines and strengthen organisational capability.
  • Identify and develop high-potential employees through career development initiatives, coaching and training opportunities.
  • Contribute to the delivery of engaging onboarding experiences that accelerate integration and performance.

Organisational Effectiveness & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead and support HR projects and initiatives that align with Eaton's people strategy and business objectives.
  • Use people analytics and HR metrics to identify trends, anticipate risks, inform decision-making and influence positive business outcomes.
  • Champion continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance people processes, employee experience and operational efficiency.
  • Support organisational change initiatives, ensuring effective stakeholder engagement and successful implementation

Employee Lifecycle Management

  • Ensure the effective management of employee lifecycle activities through the HRIS, maintaining accurate and reliable employee data.
  • Safeguard employee information and ensure compliance with GDPR and company data protection requirements.
  • Support employee engagement, wellbeing and retention initiatives that contribute to a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven HR Business Partner experience, ideally supported by CIPD Level 7 qualification.
  • Strong generalist HR expertise with a track record of partnering with leaders to deliver business-focused people solutions.
  • Excellent knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Experience within an engineering, manufacturing or operational environment is desirable.
  • Experience working within a large corporate organisation and partnering with Centres of Excellence (CoEs) is advantageous.
  • Credible influencer with the confidence to build relationships, coach leaders and challenge constructively.
  • Commercially minded with a focus on delivering results and driving continuous improvement.
  • Proactive, resilient and solutions-focused, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage at all levels.
  • Collaborative and adaptable team player who embraces change and supports organisational success.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data and insights to inform decision-making.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally as business requirements dictate.

Nationality Requirements

Candidates must be able to work in the UK without restrictions in accordance with UK National Law and be prepared to successfully undertake an appropriate level of UK National Security Vetting according to UK Government National Security Vetting criteria.
