Heavy Equipment Service Mechanic

Starting Pay: $24.00/hour — higher pay available depending on experience
Position Overview
Seeking an experienced mechanic to keep heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, and other motorized equipment operating safely and reliably. This position involves hands-on troubleshooting, repairs, preventive maintenance, and occasional travel.
Responsibilities
Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, and other motorized equipment.
Diagnose mechanical and technical problems involving hydraulics, electronics, small engines, air conditioning, and related systems.
Complete maintenance and repair work orders with accurate mileage, operating hours, and repair information.
Coordinate repair priorities and emergency maintenance needs with the Shop Foreman.
Help reduce equipment downtime by completing repairs efficiently.
Maintain tools, equipment, and the work area in a clean and organized condition.
Follow required safety procedures and regulations.
Travel as needed for work assignments, training, meetings, and other business-related activities.
Perform additional maintenance duties as assigned.
Qualifications
5+ years of maintenance experience working with heavy equipment, trailers, cranes, trucks, or similar machinery.
Experience in at least two technical specialties, such as:
- Hydraulics
- Electronics
- Small engines
- Air conditioning
- Other related mechanical systems
- High school diploma/GED plus trade school, dealership, or factory service training equivalent to an associate-level technical education.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle urgent repair needs.
- Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
- Professional certifications related to heavy equipment maintenance and repair are a plus.
Physical Requirements
Frequent bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, climbing, walking, and standing.
Ability to work in varying weather conditions.
Extended hours may be required.
Ability to regularly lift up to 50 lbs.
Assistance required for heavier items.
