Ready to empower our frontline clinical staff and ensure top-tier reproductive healthcare across Maryland? Planned Parenthood of Maryland (PPM) is seeking a dynamic Health Center Trainer. We need a healthcare professional who loves teaching and developing others to ensure our staff are fully equipped to deliver affordable, high-quality care to our patients. If you are passionate about public speaking, hands-on clinical training, and maintaining exceptional standards of care, this is the role for you.
Inside the Role
Reporting to the Training Program Manager, you will be a driving force behind our clinical support training. You will partner with Health Center Managers and Medical Assistant IIIs to deliver standardized training across our clinics. Because you will be training staff in various learning settings across the state, this role requires the ability to travel up to 100% of the time to PPM health centers. By developing resources and coaching our team, you will directly support efficient center operations and high-quality patient services.
Your Day-to-Day Impact
Empower new and existing staff: Facilitate New Hire Orientations, lead webinars, and provide hands-on clinical training for Medical Assistants (MAs) on essential functions like patient intake, point-of-care testing, lab quality assurance, and abortion care.
Be the Epic expert: Serve as a Credential Trainer for our Epic Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system, offering regular classroom-style instruction and one-on-one training sessions to ensure staff are confident navigating the software.
Develop and elevate training tools: Create and maintain updated training outlines, presentations, and resources. You will also collaborate annually with the Chief Medical Officer to update the Medical Standards & Guidelines manual, client fact sheets, and chart forms.
Ensure clinical excellence: Periodically assess MA skills, provide necessary retraining, and step in to assist with emergency situations according to PPM standards and guidelines.
What You Need to Succeed
High school diploma (or equivalent) with 4 years of healthcare experience, OR a Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of healthcare experience.
Demonstrated experience training or coaching others, paired with strong public speaking and customer service skills.
Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and the ability to drive to all PPM health centers (this role requires up to 100% travel).
Current CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain immediately after employment).
Ability (or willingness to learn post-hire) to draw blood/phlebotomy, place IVs, administer injections, and perform obstetric ultrasounds.
Highly Preferred: Bilingual fluency
Preferred: Previous experience in a medical setting, familiarity with Epic EMR, and expert skills in formatting and layout design of training documents.
Salary and Benefits Overview
Comprehensive Coverage: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, and AD&D insurance.
Work-Life Harmony: Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) and Paid Holidays.
Future Focus: 401(k) Retirement Plan and Flexible Spending Account.
