Work Experience Opportunity – Hastings Deering

Hastings Deering is seeking motivated and enthusiastic students to participate in a structured work experience program. This opportunity is ideal for individuals interested in exploring careers within the heavy equipment, mining, construction and engineering industries.

During the placement, participants will gain hands on exposure to a variety of business areas which may include workshop operations, parts and logistics, safety procedures and customer service functions. Students will observe experienced professionals, assist with basic supervised tasks and develop a greater understanding of how a leading Caterpillar equipment dealer operates on a day to day basis. The program is designed to provide meaningful insight into real workplace practices while encouraging curiosity and professional growth.

The role requires a strong willingness to learn, a positive attitude and a commitment to workplace safety. Participants should demonstrate good communication skills, reliability and respect for team environments. While no prior technical experience is required, an interest in mechanical, engineering or trade related fields will be highly regarded.
