Exciting opportunity for a trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter – Gas Turbine Valve (GTV Technician) to join our Power Generation Team in Welshpool, WA.
You’ll support the Senior GTV Technician and Engineering Service Manager in mechanical fitting, GTV assessment, and repairs. The role includes on-the-job training, internal development programs, and relevant external accreditations.
What day to day will look like:
- Perform a broad range of mechanical fitting tasks to repair and maintain GTVs.
- Assemble and dispatch valves and actuators for the power generation sector.
- Inspect, repair, test, and prepare reports for GTV equipment.
- Conduct quality checks to verify the accuracy and condition of completed parts, tools, and sub-assemblies.
- Maintain high standards of safety and compliance across all workshops and site-based activities.
Skills and experience:
- Trade-qualified Fitter, Turner & Machinist, Light Vehicle Mechanic, or Plant Mechanic, with demonstrated hands-on maintenance, repair, and fault-finding experience.
- Holds a current Australian Class C driver’s licence, with availability to travel to customer and remote work sites as required.
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail through accurate completion of inspections, service records, job documentation, and quality checks.
- Maintains a reliable, proactive work ethic, including punctual attendance, ownership of tasks, and willingness to develop new technical skills.
- Applies safe-work practices consistently, including compliance with site procedures, hazard identification, risk controls, and use of required PPE.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively at customer locations, including remote sites, while maintaining professional customer service and meeting job requirements.
