Grader: FACC 150 Foundations of Engineering Practice and Communication

Job Description Summary

The grader is responsible for grading assessments, posting grades, and returning assessments to students. Assessments may include, but are not limited to, quizzes, homework, exams, and presentations.

Job Description

• Grade assignments and exams for FACC 150 Foundations of Engineering Practice and Communication according to guidelines established by the instructor.
• Provide constructive, detailed, and timely feedback to students on written work and other assessments.
• Maintain accuracy, fairness, and consistency in grading.

Typical Functions

(i.) Marks assignments and exams following set guidelines.
(ii.) Completes grading keys and provides detailed, constructive feedback.
(iii.) Completes grading and returns feedback by specified deadlines.
(iv.) Maintains records of grades by entering them into MyCourses and/or Excel files.
(v.) Provides timely feedback to support student learning and improvement.
(vi.) The list of functions outlined above is representative and not a complete and detailed list of tasks which may be performed by an incumbent.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with course content, such as having previously completed FACC 100, FACC 250, FACC 400, or equivalent engineering communication coursework.
• Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in progress
• Strong written communication skills and demonstrated ability to provide constructive feedback on written work in English.
• Attention to detail and ability to apply grading rubrics consistently.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet grading deadlines.
• Experience using MyCourses, Excel, or other learning management systems is considered an asset.
