The Global Markets Risk Unit (GMRU) is responsible for the measurement and monitoring of risk regarding Global Markets activities. The Risk Solutions team manages all the risk cycle comprising the design, execution and implementation of several risk-related projects, including valuation, market risk, counterparty risk, AVAs and XVAs, among others. The team also focuses on the implementation, development, and enhancement of corporate tools within the Global Markets environment, collaborating on projects started by either GMRU or other areas

About the job:

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Act as the primary risk contact in the conception, planning, design, execution, and implementation of projects.
• Define project scope from the outset, establishing the most suitable governance structure to ensure its success and securing the necessary approvals.
• Understand the project scope and identify impacts across various risk dimensions, including valuation, market risk, counterparty risk, AVAs and XVAs, among others.
• Ensure appropriate staffing for the project in coordination with relevant managers responsible for allocating resources.
• Take responsibility for specific project-related actions and analyses when required.
• Develop and maintain the project plan, manage unexpected events, dependencies, and define the critical path until completion.
• Actively participate in project monitoring and execution committees, internally escalating relevant issues to discipline and/or process representatives.
• Coordinate internally with risk teams to define requirements for the new solution, develop validation strategies, identify stakeholders and required validations, and estimate necessary resources and timelines.
• Engage with other teams and areas, both locally and at Holding level, to ensure the accomplishment of established requirements.

Required Profile:

• Studies in Engineering, Mathematics, Business Administration, or related.
• Master’s Degree and/or FRM/CFA certifications highly valued.

Experience:

• At least 8 years of professional experience in the financial or banking sector.
• Knowledge and experience in various financial risk domains: valuation, sensitivities, market risk, counterparty risk, AVAs, XVAs.
• Knowledge and/or experience in implementation of the Fundamental Review of the Trading Book (FRTB) regulation.
• Minimum 5 five years of experience in project management, preferably in finance or banking.

Skills:

• Ability to analyze and understand quantitative models and valuation tools.
• Sound technical knowledge of capital market products and acquaintance with financial risk systems and trading platforms.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Spanish and English. Spanish proficiency is not a must but a medium/high level acts as a plus to perform effectively in the role.
• Ability to interact and negotiate with various stakeholders, including front-office teams, risk management, technology, and support functions.
• Ability to work autonomously and proactively in a dynamic, constantly changing environment.
• Strong ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate efforts across different areas.
