Job Description
Job Purpose
This role owns multi‑region strategic key accounts (>€50M portfolio) and sets multi‑year partnership roadmaps that deliver profitable growth and innovation. It leads high‑stakes negotiations with complex terms and optimizes pricing/margins at a portfolio level. The Key Account Director aligns internal stakeholders across functions and regions to meet customer commitments reliably. By building board‑level trust and disciplined governance, the role strengthens enterprise relationships and long‑term resilience
Know How:
• Knowledge of packaging products and solutions, multi‑region roadmap governance, account management tools, and CRM systems.
• Understanding of sustainability practices, compliance requirements, and market trends.
• Strong relationship management, matrix leadership, negotiation and influencing skills.
• High level of continuous improvement and project management expertise.
• MBA/Master’s in Sales or Marketing; 10–15 years of account management or customer‑facing experience.
Problem Solving
• Resolves complaints, quality issues, and operational inefficiencies.
• Applies pricing and portfolio governance, legal/risk frameworks, quality and sustainability standards.
• Adapts solutions to customer‑specific needs and market shifts.
• Handles complex long‑term contractual structures affecting profitability.
Accountability
• Customer retention, revenue & margin growth, roadmap delivery, talent management.
• Oversees AM/KAM teams and a portfolio of >$100M.
• Influences KPIs such as customer satisfaction, on‑time delivery, forecast accuracy, roadmap KPIs, and customer quality metrics.
Job Context & Complexity
• Operates in a fast‑changing, competitive, multi‑region environment.
• Manages cross‑functional coordination across multiple plants/sites.
• Addresses high customer customization and global‑account complexity.
Required Qualifications & Experience
• MBA, Master’s degree in Sales, Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
• 10–15 years of progressive experience in key account management or strategic commercial roles ideally with a strong technical background in the packaging industry
• Proven track record managing multi‑region or global strategic accounts with significant revenue impact (>$50M portfolios).
• Expertise in negotiations, pricing governance, and long‑term contractual structures.
• Leadership experience
• Understanding of packaging solutions, sustainability requirements, compliance frameworks, and market trends.
• Experience in matrix organizations across regions.
• Proficiency with CRM tools.
• Continuous improvement mindset; Lean/Six Sigma exposure preferred.
