Job Summary: 

Reporting to the Head of Operations Business Solutions, this position has been created for the purpose of expanding Global Financial Crimes Division (GFCD) Operations capabilities for MUFG. 

 

One of several key positions in the GFCD Operations function, this position will be responsible for driving business solutions, managing GFCD and International Compliance initiatives that drive strategic change, improve operational efficiency, optimize processes, and deliver continuous improvement through innovative solutions.

The incumbent is responsible for supporting leadership to ensure operations business solutions are executed successfully and further mitigate potential financial crime and compliance risks.

Major Responsibilities:

• Lead delivery of complex global initiatives aligned with strategic goals.

• Collaborate with senior executives and stakeholders across the globe to define the scope of effort, deliverables, dependencies, resource requirements and timing.

• Create and manage plans to successfully deliver the scope of the initiative.

• Develop, manage and facilitate governance routines as needed for execution.

• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to ensure successful execution.

• Lead cross-functional teams to successfully implement initiatives on time, managing risks, escalating issues when needed and clearly defining roles and responsibilities.

• Synthesize large amounts of information and conduct detailed analysis and documentation of current business operations and processes.

• Identify areas for improvement and develop viable solutions to optimize operations, streamline processes, enhance efficiency and further mitigate risks.

• Create and present clear, concise senior executive presentations of current state operations, proposed solutions/recommendations and progress.

• Identify and propose new initiatives to management.

 

Additional Responsibilities:

• Partner with senior leadership to manage regulatory exams, audits, and audit Issues as they arise on the team.

• Team Lead for two offshore team members in India.

• Responsible for managing offshoring governance meetings with senior stakeholders, reporting, inter-affiliate agreements, business continuity plans, invoicing, supporting new joiners in India and hiring in India.

• Collaborative with strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact and work with cross functional teams at all management levels across the globe.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SharePoint).

• Proven success managing regulatory exams, internal audits and open Issues.

• 5-7 years’ experience of transformation management or change management experience and/or;

• 5+ years of financial industry, consulting, financial crime compliance experience and/or;

• 5+ years of reengineering and/or process improvement experience;

• 3+ years of team lead and/or people management experience.

 

 Additional skills a plus

• Experience working in a large international organization is preferred.

• Banking and/or consulting experience preferred.

• 4-year university degree preferred.

• ACAMS certification a plus.

• Experience interfacing with banking regulators and enforcement staff preferred.

• Understanding of an effective financial crimes risk management framework a plus.

The typical base pay range for this role is $122,000 to $8166,000 depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
