Job Description:
This job is responsible for serving as a finance partner to specified Lines of Business (LOBs) and directing the day-to-day finance activities to manage strategic annual planning and implementation. Key responsibilities include performing forecasting, profitability analysis, expense efficiency, pricing, financial reporting, and overseeing value creation ideas and new investment business cases. Job expectations include supporting management in key decision making, and influencing and gaining support from financial analysts.
Team Specific Job Description:
The GEAR Staff Support Finance team provides financial planning, forecasting, reporting, expense management, and strategic decision support for Staff Support organizations, including Chief Financial Organization, Chief People Organization, Global Risk Management, Legal, Audit, and Global Strategy and Enterprise Payments.
The team delivers end-to-end finance support through dedicated leads and analysts aligned to each line of business, focusing on accurate financial reporting and analytics, strong business partnership, operational excellence, automation, and process improvement while serving as a centralized organization that promotes consistent methodologies, tools, controls, and career development.
This role will support the Chief People Organization (CPO) and Global Strategy and Enterprise Payments (GSEP) organizations, representing $2.1B in annual expenses and nearly 7,000 resources. The Finance Lead will serve as the primary finance partner for the supported organizations, coordinate the day-to-day delivery and review of work across four analysts, and translate financial results into actionable insights for business and finance leadership. Responsibilities include forecasting, planning, reporting, business analysis, executive presentations, and process improvement, with an emphasis on improving the quality, consistency, and efficiency of financial processes.
Responsibilities:
- Oversees the financial analysis and reporting needed to provide Line of Business (LOB) and finance leadership with trends and comparisons on all financial matters, focusing on maximizing revenue growth, cost management, profitability, cash flow generation, and operational improvement
- Reviews LOBs financial performances and provides strategic direction to teams by assisting with synthesizing key trends, assessing current and future business risks, and preparing, analyzing, and reporting on financial results and key metrics
- Manages forecasting and/or budgeting and compares current performance against plan, prior periods, and forecasts to evaluate current and future performance trajectory
- Delegates and provides oversight to teams building financial management reports, presentations, and ad hoc analyses for LOBs and/or finance partners
- Implements new and ongoing projects and strategic initiatives by helping to create new processes to automate key reporting capabilities and delivering on process improvements and simplifications to enable increased focus on strategic priorities
- Builds, maintains, and manages partner relationships across the Finance division and implements policies and procedures that ensure integrity of the financials, sound controls, and effective procedures
Team Specific Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary finance point of contact for CPO and GSEP business partners and BFOs.
- Coordinate and oversee the team’s delivery of forecasting, reporting, planning, month-end, quarter-end, and other Finance routines.
- Provide day-to-day workstream leadership and review analyst work to ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery.
- Drive process improvements, automation opportunities and other initiatives that improve the quality and efficiency of Finance support.
- Coordinate with teammates across GEAR to enhance methodologies and apply leading practices across common processes.
- Coordinate the activities of four analysts across GEAR Staff Support and support their ongoing learning and development without direct management responsibility.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of professional experience, preferably within the financial services industry.
- Strong financial planning, forecasting, expense management, and business support finance experience.
- Advanced technical skills, including Excel, Workiva, SharePoint, Power Query, Tableau, and emerging technology tools such as AI/Copilot.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to a well-controlled and accurate operating environment.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to balance multiple deliverables, recurring Finance routines, forecast cycles, deadlines, and long-term strategic projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex financial concepts into concise, digestible insights for business partners and leadership.
- Strong business partnering and collaboration skills, with the ability to lead, influence, and drive outcomes across teammates, business partners, and stakeholders without direct authority.
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities, leveraging data to develop creative solutions and business recommendations.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with Forecast Connect, hierarchy management, planning and forecasting processes, and month-end reporting.
- Prior project leadership, team leadership, or mentoring experience.
- Knowledge of Bank of America financial planning, forecasting, and resource management processes.

Minimum Education Requirement:
