Your Role

Sets functional-safety strategy and organizational governance across the portfolio, ensuring robust technical authority, competent execution, customer confidence and sustainable safety ownership.

RFQ / Concept 

Set pursuit risk posture, competence model, independence and commitments. 

Planning / Architecture 

Approve governance, plans, staffing and technical-authority deployment. 

Implementation / Integration 

Steer systemic risks, critical programs, cross-domain dependencies and evidence maturity. 

Verification / Release 

Make executive decisions on open safety risks and release posture. 

Production / Operations 

Oversee field anomalies, systemic corrective actions and long-range capability renewal. 

Key responsibilities 

• Define functional-safety operating model, governance and investment strategy. 

• Own portfolio capacity, competence, independence, succession and assessor readiness. 

• Ensure consistent lifecycle application across vehicle, component, hardware and software safety. 

• Chair critical safety, release and escalation decisions. 

• Represent safety posture with customers and senior leadership; drive systemic corrective action. 

EDUCATION  B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, or a related engineering discipline 

EXPERIENCE  15+ years 

Your Background

Required competencies 

• Extensive automotive engineering leadership with functional-safety accountability. 

• Deep ISO 26262 lifecycle, confirmation-measure, safety-case and Automotive SPICE knowledge. 

• Portfolio planning, organizational design, customer negotiation and risk governance. 

• Demonstrated measurable improvement in delivery and capability. 

Preferred competencies 

• Assessor/auditor qualification, SOTIF, semiconductor safety and global CoE development.
