The Fuel Analyst will assist in the completion of the day-to-day duties for the Fuel Procurement Department, facilitate communication between fuel vendors and the company, assist in creating a positive team environment and be a responsible, dependable employee. Preferred Requirements
- Master's Degree in Business Administration and Management.
- Experience within the petroleum or airline industry.
- Strong problem-solving skills, basic accounting principles knowledge, and data analysis skills.
- Knowledge and experience of petroleum pricing, fuel supply and distribution, refining or trading.
- Ability to recommend and implement strategic courses of action relative to various fuel circumstances.
Job Duties
- Work with other Allegiant departments (Accounting, Quality Assurance, Safety and Training, Tax, Treasury, Accounts Payable, Airport Services, Finance, OCC, Dispatch, etc.) as needed to support Fuel Management and Company objectives.
- Review fuel data and fuel related invoices to ensure costs, taxes and fees are correct and that gallons match Allegiant’s actual usage. Assist with accounting disputes and request timely corrections of any discrepancies.
- Assist in maintaining the Fuel Management System with various contracted prices, terms, volume, and fees.
- Assist the fuel procurement team with fuel tax research to ensure Allegiant’s sales and excise taxes are current and updated accordingly within the system.
- Assist with reconciling into-plane and consortium monthly billings to ensure accuracy.
- Assist the Fuel Purchaser and Fuel Director with the annual fuel tender process to secure competitively priced fuel for all scheduled and charter locations through strategic sourcing, purchasing and contract management.
- Maintain and update fuel vendor and airport fuel operator contact information.
- Assist with fuel supply and service contract maintenance.
- Provide Accounting and QA with any required fuel vendor maintenance or QA audit forms.
- Assist the fuel procurement team with maintaining relationships with fuel suppliers, transportation companies, storage operators, into plane operators and airports, through regular communication.
- Assist the fuel procurement team with market research and analyze competitors to gauge opportunities to reduce fuel costs.
- Arrange fuel releases for ad-hoc charter, diversions, aircraft delivery and maintenance.
- Monitor inventory levels at locations where the Company purchases fuel in bulk deliveries.
- Maintain and update fuel capacity on hand for all locations.
- Communicate and distribute monthly fuel nominations to all fuel supply vendors.
- Assist the fuel procurement team in resolving fuel operational issues affecting company performance to ensure KPI’s are met.
- Assist the team in preparing fuel usage reports, cost summaries and projections.
- Gain insight into pipeline and truck scheduling.
- Gain insight into jet fuel pricing; Platts, Argus, and OPIS indexes.
- Other duties as assigned.

Office Environment

- May be required to work various shifts/days in a 24-hour situation.
- Regular attendance is a requirement of the role.
- Exposure to moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phones, printers, and foot traffic), temperature and light fluctuations.
- Ability to work in a confined area as well as the ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
- Some travel may be a requirement of the role.
