Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced FP&A professional to support our Services business unit, which services and maintains our hardware/equipment fleet in the field (Operations & Maintenance - O&M) . This role will partner closely with Operations, Field Service, and Supply Chain leadership to drive financial planning, forecasting, and performance analysis specific to a linear generator. The ideal candidate has 5-7 years of FP&A experience, ideally within a hardware, equipment, industrials, or asset-heavy services environment, and is comfortable translating operational metrics (uptime, service costs, spare parts, field labor) into financial outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Own the annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and long-range planning process for the business line, including revenue, cost of service, and margin analysis
Partner with Operations and Field Service leaders to build and maintain cost models covering field labor, spare parts/inventory, truck rolls, warranty, and third-party service contracts
Track and report on key O&M/hardware operating metrics (e.g., fleet uptime, mean time to repair, cost per unit serviced, service margin by contract/customer) and connect them to financial performance
Prepare monthly management reporting packages, including variance analysis (actuals vs budget/forecast) with clear narrative on drivers
Support pricing and contract profitability analysis for service agreements, maintenance contracts, and warranty programs
Build and maintain financial models to evaluate capital investments (equipment, tooling, spare parts inventory) and business cases for new service programs or geographic expansion
Partner with Accounting on month-end close, ensuring accurate cost allocation and revenue recognition for service/maintenance contracts
Identify cost-saving and margin-improvement opportunities across the O&M cost structure
Develop dashboards and self-service reporting tools to give operational leaders real-time visibility into their financial performance
Support ad hoc analyses for senior leadership, including board and investor reporting materials as needed
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
7-10 years of progressive FP&A or corporate finance experience
Experience supporting a hardware, equipment, industrials, field services, or asset-intensive business (O&M, install base, or service organizations strongly preferred)
Strong financial modeling skills (advanced Excel required; experience building models from scratch)
Experience with budgeting/forecasting tools and ERP systems
Ability to translate operational/technical metrics into financial insights for non-finance stakeholders
Strong communication skills; comfortable presenting to senior operational and finance leadership
Preferred:
MBA or CFA a plus, not required
Hardware/manufacturing background
Familiarity with cost accounting and revenue recognition as it applies to maintenance/warranty agreements
Experience with BI/reporting tools
