What you’ll do

• Maintenance & Repair: Perform maintenance and repair of ladles and vessels including relining AOD vessels, bottom-pour ladles, and transfer ladles.
• Refractory Work: Remove old refractory linings, replace burned bricks, install appropriate refractory materials, and support general refractory duties when vessels are unavailable.
• Stopper Rods & Baskets: Build, press, and set up stopper rods; maintain operational buffer; build baskets used in ladles.
• Material Preparation: Prepare wet sand and mix castables for refractory applications.
• Operational Support: Position vessels, ladles, and materials using overhead crane; collect and enter operational data; ensure ladles and vessels meet process and quality standards.
• Lean Initiatives: Participate actively in lean programs including 6S, Visual Management, and Kaizen to maintain a clean and hazard-free work environment.
• Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.

What you’ll bring

Must-haves:

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to work onsite during first shift (3:00 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.).
• Commitment to Safety, Health, and Environmental requirements.
