About the Role

The engineering geologist will also ensure that the excavation depths and foundation preparations meet the requirements of appropriate, international dam engineering practice, and that the foundation grouting meets the specified requirements in relation to foundation sealing.

Qualifications

• Assist other engineers in reviewing the design prepared by the consultant of “Detailed Engineering Study” from the geological viewpoint;
• Interpret the data received from such investigation and collected from other relevant sources;
• Review drawings and design documents produced by the MWTI contractors and assist other engineers in reviewing drawings and design documents of civil structures produced by the contractors, from the geological viewpoint;
• Ensure that the foundation excavation, foundation preparation and foundation grouting is undertaken to international practice for dam engineering and that the design-and-build contractor applies appropriate quality control mechanisms to achieve a safe dam.
• Review and audit the Contractors quality control processes for the dam foundation implementation to ensure that it is been applied as indicated.
• Ensure that any new geological information obtained from the foundation excavations is fed back into the design, and appropriate modifications made, if required.
• Execute skill transfer programs for MWTI personnel during construction stage;
• Assist in maintaining sound external relations and personnel relations;
• Review drawings and design documents of civil structures produced by the contractors, in particular those for detailed design;
• Interpret the data received from such investigation and collected from other relevant sources;
