About the role

The Financial Services deals tax team sits across PwC’s wider Financial Services tax team. We are comprised of a range of individuals providing sector specific advice on all aspects of tax M&A and structuring. We are looking for a Senior Manager with strong UK corporate tax and deals experience to join the Banking & Capital markets sub-team. 

We work on a wide range of transactions across the banking, capital markets, FinTech and wider financial services industry. The industry is undergoing significant transformation, making it a dynamic and forward-thinking environment and many of the transactions are medium to large scale, with opportunity to support on all aspects of the deal lifecycle from due diligence and tax structuring to implementation advisory.

You will be given the opportunity to develop your skills, drive your ambition and work with experienced Partners and Directors across the team. The team will provide you with the opportunity to put into practice your technical skills in a stimulating and challenging environment.  

 

What your days will look like:

• Managing and delivering bespoke tax advice and implications on an ever changing deal portfolio across tax due diligence, structuring and corporate reorganisations

• Maintaining expertise in UK and global tax legislation, applying complex rules to provide practical guidance for our clients

• You will work closely with other parts of the business, including the wider Financial Services Tax team, Deals tax and international PwC member firms

• Use innovation and transformation to evolve how we work with clients and deliver an outstanding client experience, including leveraging the array of AI tools on offer within the firm

• Leading and mentoring junior tax professionals, ensuring quality and fostering an inclusive, high-performing team culture

• Managing risk and engagement economics, adhering to PwC’s ethical standards while overseeing budgeting, billing, and compliance processes

This role is for you if:

• You have a good understanding of UK tax technical and tax accounting concepts

• You have M&A experience across tax due diligence and structuring

• You have knowledge and experience working with banks or wider financial services organisations
• You have a professional tax qualification (e.g., CTA, ACA, ACCA, or an international equivalent)

• You have a proven track record in managing and delivering large-scale, multi-territory professional services engagements, especially within a tax context

• You have strong leadership, coaching and mentoring skills and can demonstrate the ability to lead and inspire a diverse team
