Responsible for building and running the risk management framework for the company's overseas acquiring business, covering the end-to-end merchant lifecycle and dynamic risk control across acquiring models and overseas markets. The role identifies, assesses, mitigates and monitors risk from business models and transactions, designs and deploys matching mitigation strategies, and ensures compliance with card scheme rules, AML and Anti-fraud requirements across jurisdictions — safeguarding risk exposure and the compliance bottom line while supporting healthy, rapid overseas business growth.
- Business Model & Risk Identification: Develop a deep understanding of overseas acquiring business models and the transaction lifecycle to systematically identify and assess the risk across different markets.
- Risk Strategy Deployment & Mitigation: Design and deploy matching mitigation strategies for identified risks and validate their effectiveness through closed-loop review.
- Merchant Due Diligence & Investigation: Conduct data analysis and due diligence on key merchants, high-risk merchants, and complex cases; assess business authenticity, compliance, and risk level through transaction analysis, document verification, and on-site visits.
- Risk Rating & Monitoring Models: Build and continuously optimize merchant risk rating, transaction monitoring rules, and risk models; improve detection and interception of fraud, money laundering etc.; deploy tiered control strategies based on the ratings.
- Indicators, Reporting & Scheme Programs: Establish portfolio-level KRI and EWI; interface with card scheme monitoring programs and deliver regular risk analysis reports and optimization recommendations.
Who We Look For
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above in finance, risk management, economics, data analysis, law, or a related field.
- Proficiency in English and Mandarin is required, to liaise with regulators, card schemes, and business counterparts.
- 3+ years of experience in acquiring, payment, or financial risk control (5+ for senior level), with hands-on experience in payment institutions, acquirers, or fintech companies preferred; overseas / cross-border business experience is a plus.
- Familiar with the major acquiring risk types and the design and deployment of matching mitigation strategies. Solid command of card scheme rules, AML, and chargeback/dispute mechanisms.
- Solid data analysis skills; able to identify anomalous patterns and risk signals from large datasets.
- Strong ownership and resilience under pressure; excellent cross-functional communication to align business, technology, compliance, and operations teams to implement risk control requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with crypto or cross-border / overseas acquiring risk control; Background in data analytics and AI applications (scorecards, machine learning, rule engines)
