Dyson Business Services (DBS) organisation will provide process and service excellence to support Dyson’s growth ambitions with a goal of innovating and enhancing services over time to meet the changing needs of the business.
The Financial Control Manager will be responsible for:
Period End Closing
Responsible for the accuracy and timely close for Japan market, ensuring compliance to the relevant accounting standards.
Lead month-end P&L meetings, have discussions on the financials with Market FDs and follow-up on actions raised.
Balance Sheet Integrity
Take full accountability for the timely and accurate preparation of the Balance Sheet (BS) reconciliations and ensure availability and completeness of supporting documents.
Approve the BS reconciliations prepared and able to provide explanations related to the accounts.
Conduct regular BS reviews with Market FDs and prompt follow-up on action items.
Analyse the financial statements and highlighting risks, opportunities and areas of focus to Market, and maintain healthy balance sheet position.
Ensure accurate preparation of the Cashflow Forecast, conducts meeting with Market FDs and Treasury team to discuss details and improve on process.
Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable Management
Work with DBS OTC operation and local sales team to manage open deduction/open credit to keep aged open items to the minimum.
Support STP team to manage aged open PO and GRIR items, proactively follow up with PO owner to close PO/GRIR on a timely manner.
Oversee AR/AP status and work with various stakeholders to achieve OTC and STP metrics.
Internal controls
Review and ensure proper controls are in place for all processes managed by DBS.
Implement the global process and ensure compliance to internal controls are implemented and monitored.
Statutory Requirements
Lead the end-to-end statutory reporting and external audit process for the assigned market, ensuring high-quality, compliant and timely delivery. Own the audit calendar, including planning, preparation, review, stakeholder coordination and completion of all key milestones. Coordinate audit requests, manage the information and evidence tracker, resolve audit queries, escalate significant matters promptly and drive audit actions through to closure.
Partner with Market Finance, Group Finance and process teams to ensure audit submissions are complete, accurate, internally consistent and supported by appropriate documentation.
Prepare the Statutory Financial Statement at Financial year end.
Partner with the Regional Tax team and external tax advisers to ensure direct and indirect tax submissions are accurate, complete and delivered in accordance with the applicable statutory and internal tax calendar.
Process/Systems/Continuous Improvement
Lead continuous improvement across Financial Control processes, with particular focus on standardisation, simplification, automation and responsible adoption of AI agents.
Work proactively with RTR/OTC/PTP GPOs on continuous improvement projects
People Management
Coach and train the team members to ensure team members have relevant and updated knowledge in the areas they are responsible for.
Team Contribution
Operate with appropriate independence and sound professional judgement. Provide accurate analysis and transparent status reporting to the role’s line manager and key stakeholders. Escalate significant accounting, tax, control, audit, policy, delivery or stakeholder matters promptly, together with an assessment of impact and recommended actions.
Stakeholder Management
Partnering with FD / Head of Finance in the market, to discuss opportunities/issues and stay abreast of any new development that may impact DBS
Act as a single point of contact for market FDs for issues related to DBS services
Identify and build strong relationships with key stakeholders in the markets.
