At Civica, we're looking for a proactive and analytically minded Finance Systems Analyst to help shape and enhance our finance technology landscape.
Our Finance Systems team plays a critical role in supporting and evolving key finance platforms, including ERP and FP&A systems, ensuring they deliver reliable, insightful, and actionable information across the organisation. This position offers the opportunity to work on strategic initiatives, system enhancements, and continuous improvement projects that directly influence the way our finance teams operate.
A key aspect of this role is advanced Excel expertise. You'll be working with large and complex datasets, using sophisticated Excel functions, data analysis techniques, and reporting tools to support financial processes, investigate data issues, improve data quality, and drive informed decision-making. Strong hands-on experience with Excel is essential.
You will also contribute to automation and system optimisation initiatives, helping reduce manual effort, improve efficiency, and unlock valuable insights that support business growth and performance.
What You'll Be Doing
- Partner with finance and business stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver enhancements across finance systems and reporting platforms.
- Support the full lifecycle of system improvements, including requirements gathering, data analysis, testing, reporting development, and release activities.
- Act as a Finance Systems Super User, helping maintain system integrity, governance standards, and data consistency across platforms.
- Analyse, validate, reconcile, and consolidate large volumes of financial and operational data from multiple sources.
- Utilise advanced Excel capabilities to investigate issues, support month-end activities, develop reports, and provide meaningful business insights.
- Identify and deliver opportunities for automation, process improvement, and enhanced reporting capability.
- Support data integrations and ensure the accuracy, quality, and reliability of information flowing across finance systems.
- Collaborate with Finance, Technology, and wider business teams to implement scalable and sustainable solutions that improve user experience and business performance.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience driving process improvements and implementing system enhancements that deliver measurable business value.
- A genuine interest in data, systems, and continuous process optimisation.
- Sound understanding of management accounting principles, practices, and reporting requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- A proactive and solution-oriented approach, with the ability to analyse issues and resolve them in a structured and logical manner.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, including advanced Excel skills and experience working with large and complex datasets.
- High attention to detail, with a commitment to accuracy, quality, and continuous self-review of work outputs.
Desirable Skills & Qualifications
- Experience using Workday Adaptive Planning or a similar Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) platform.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence.
