Position Description

The Facility Compliance Lead is responsible for establishing and maintaining the infrastructure, programs, and processes necessary to demonstrate compliance across DOE and NRC regulated facilities. This role will work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, licensing, and quality teams to ensure that regulatory commitments are translated into executable programs and verifiable compliance artifacts.

This position is central to enabling safe, compliant, and scalable deployment of advanced nuclear facilities. The Facility Compliance Lead will drive the development of administrative and operational programs, ensure reporting readiness, and build systems that allow the organization to demonstrate compliance in a clear, efficient, and auditable manner.

• Develop and implement the compliance infrastructure needed to support DOE and NRC licensed facilities, including programmatic frameworks, procedures, and reporting systems
• Stand up and mature administrative and operational programs (e.g., configuration management, corrective action, records management, reporting, and quality assurance interfaces)
• Translate regulatory requirements, license conditions, and commitments into actionable facility-level programs and processes
• Establish processes and tools to ensure compliance can be consistently demonstrated through documentation, metrics, and auditable records
• Lead development of compliance reporting strategies, including routine, event-based, and regulatory-required reporting
• Coordinate across engineering, operations, and licensing teams to ensure design and operational activities align with regulatory and programmatic requirements
• Develop and maintain compliance matrices, commitment tracking systems, and program health indicators
• Support internal and external audits, inspections, and assessments, including preparation, response, and corrective action tracking
• Interface with regulators (DOE and NRC) on programmatic and compliance-related topics, including inspections and requests for information
• Identify gaps, risks, and opportunities for improvement in compliance programs and drive resolution
• Support development of scalable compliance approaches aligned with advanced reactor deployment strategies

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, or related technical field, or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated experience with DOE and/or NRC regulatory frameworks (e.g., 10 CFR 50, 52, 70, 830, DOE Orders)
• Experience developing, implementing, or overseeing administrative or operational programs in a nuclear or highly regulated environment
• Experience supporting or leading audits, inspections, or regulatory interactions
• Strong understanding of compliance documentation, records, and reporting expectations
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Bonus Qualifications:

• Experience standing up compliance or quality programs for new or first-of-a-kind facilities
• Experience with advanced reactor programs or fuel cycle facilities
• Familiarity with DOE contractor assurance systems or NRC inspection frameworks
• Experience with digital compliance tools, configuration management systems, or requirements management platforms
• Background in operations, licensing, or quality assurance within nuclear facilities

About Oklo travel requirements:

Oklo requires remote employees to travel to headquarters (Santa Clara, CA) twice a quarter annually, based on business or team needs, including attendance at team meetings, off-sites, and other company events or gatherings. For the first two weeks of onboarding, employees are required to be in person at headquarters in Santa Clara, CA.

About Oklo compensation:

Salary: $120,000-$180,00

About Oklo Inc.: Oklo Inc. is developing fast fission power plants to deliver clean, reliable, and affordable energy at scale; establishing a domestic supply chain for critical radioisotopes; and advancing nuclear fuel recycling to convert nuclear waste into clean energy.
