About the role

You will be responsible for:

·         Lead expense accounting processes in a high-volume, dynamic FMCG environment.

·         Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities and ensure timely, accurate completion.

·         Review general ledger accounts, journal entries, accruals, provisions, and other accounting adjustments.

·         Ensure transactions are recorded in compliance with local statutory requirements and company accounting policies.

·         Prepare and review account and balance sheet reconciliations and follow up on outstanding or unusual items.

·         Support accounting activities related to leases, intercompany transactions, and other balance sheet accounts.

·         Identify accounting issues, ensure their timely resolution, and escalate relevant matters to senior management when necessary.

·         Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes.

·         Monitor changes in accounting standards and local regulations and support implementation within accounting processes.

·         Investigate accounting discrepancies and work with relevant teams to resolve them.

·         Ensure business transactions are accurately reflected in the accounting records and understand their financial impact.

·         Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and enhance accounting processes.

·         Contribute to finance transformation, ERP, and automation initiatives.

·         Support the implementation of new accounting processes, systems, and reporting tools.

·         Contribute to improvements in data quality, reporting efficiency, and accounting controls.

·         Promote the effective use of digital tools across accounting operations.

Experience / skills required

·         Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

·         5-8 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, or similar finance roles.

·         Experience in FMCG, consumer goods, manufacturing, or other high-volume transaction environments is preferred.

·         Previous people management experience is preferred due to the leadership responsibilities of the role.

·         Strong knowledge of Turkish statutory accounting practices.

·         Hands-on experience in general accounting and monthly and year-end close processes.

·         Experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, accruals, and provisions.

·         Big Four audit experience is an advantage.

·         Professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, SMMM, or equivalent are an advantage.

·         Experience working within multinational or global organizations is preferred.

·         Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
