This position will have primary responsibilities locally and regionally within BILH, with a focused scope across perioperative, OR, Cath Lab/EP, Interventional Radiology, Endoscopy, and other procedural areas. Under the leadership of the AVP, BILH Hospital Operations Supply Chain, this position is responsible for the daily procedural supply chain operations that support product availability, clinical readiness, inventory accuracy, point-of-use workflows, distribution, and high-reliability service to procedural teams. The Executive Director serves as a hospital and BILH regional resource for procedural supply chain operations and bridges procurement, perioperative, nursing, physician, clinical leadership, value analysis, and contracting teams to optimize product standardization, eliminate waste, and ensure supplies, devices, equipment, and implants are available for patient care. This position has responsibility for supply chain managers, materials management staff, and clinical supply support processes across assigned procedural business units. Responsibilities include direct and indirect staff leadership, execution of GPO and contracted product conversions, consignment and high-risk item oversight, backorder mitigation, workflow redesign, and development of departmental policies, procedures, systems, and performance metrics that support safe, efficient, and financially disciplined procedural operations.Job Description:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:
1. Directs procedural supply chain operations across ORs, Cath Lab/EP, Interventional Radiology, Endoscopy, and other procedural units to ensure product availability, service reliability, inventory accuracy, and timely case support.
2. Bridges procurement, perioperative services, nursing, physicians, clinical leadership, value analysis, contracting, and local hospital operations to align products, workflows, and operational priorities.
3. Partners with Value Analysis Teams, physicians, and clinical leadership to standardize medical products, devices, implants, and equipment while maintaining clinical buy-in, care quality, and patient safety.
4. Oversees day-to-day procurement support, point-of-use systems, inventory management, consignment programs, par-level maintenance, distribution, and procedural supply workflows.
5. Triages and escalates product interruptions, delays, substitutions, backorders, contract changes, and quality deviations with clear action plans, owners, timelines, and stakeholder communications.
6. Develops protocols for backorder response, consignment oversight, high-risk and high-dollar item tracking, preference-card alignment, and resiliency planning for critical procedural supplies.
7. Supports financial revenue cycle and supply spend stewardship by monitoring contract compliance, inventory turns, utilization, expiration/waste, clinical variation, and clinically appropriate standardization opportunities.
8. Ensures storage, handling, distribution, and documentation of clinical supplies meet regulatory standards, including Joint Commission, OSHA, FDA, and internal BILH requirements.
9. Establishes and monitors KPIs related to fill rate, stockouts, backorders, inventory turns, waste/expiration, conversion compliance, point-of-use accuracy, productivity, and stakeholder satisfaction.
10. Leads, mentors, and develops supply chain managers and clinical support staff, establishes clear performance expectations, and drives LEAN and technology-enabled process improvement across procedural units.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Management, Healthcare Administration, or a related field preferred.
Licensure, Certification & Registration: CMRP preferred Lean Certification Green or Black Belt preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive supply chain and operational leadership experience within a complex, highly regulated healthcare/hospital environment. Deep familiarity with clinical environments, perioperative/OR supply chains, Cath Lab/EP, Interventional Radiology, Endoscopy, procedural inventory workflows, and inventory management systems.
Previous experience directing multiple sites, business units, procedural service lines, or cross-functional clinical supply chain programs.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
Ability to analyze, organize, delegate, and lead complex operational responsibilities across multiple clinical environments.
Demonstrated ability to develop and meet budgetary, P&L, supply utilization, inventory, and productivity goals.
Strong clinical stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to work effectively with physicians, nurses, procedural leaders, hospital executives, and administrative staff.
Strong data analytics, change management, product standardization, conversion planning, and operational problem-solving skills.
Exemplary written and oral communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate product changes, backorder mitigation plans, and service-level expectations.
Team building, professional development, and organizational leadership skills required.
Ability to engage vendors, distribution partners, and manufacturers to support supply continuity, innovation, contract compliance, and timely resolution of operational issues.
Capacity to assess procedural unit needs and implement reliable workflows that ensure daily operations run smoothly, efficiently, and safely.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
Experience with Microsoft Office, Smartsheet, ERP/MMIS systems, Workday, point-of-use technology, clinical supply chain platforms, and procedural inventory systems preferred.

Pay Range:
$130,000.00 USD - $170,000.00 USDThe pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
