Santander Corporate & Investment Banking (SCIB) is strengthening its Financial Sponsors franchise across Asia Pacific as a key strategic growth priority for Global Transaction Banking (GTB).

The Executive Director, Financial Sponsors Sales will lead the origination and development of GTB opportunities with Financial Sponsors and their portfolio companies across Asia Pacific.  The role focuses on building senior relationships with leading Financial Sponsors headquartered in, or active across, Asia and Santander's core geographies. Priority sectors include data centres, AI infrastructure, digital infrastructure, renewable energy and energy transition.

The successful candidate will act as a strategic GTB advisor, identifying opportunities across the investment lifecycle and partnering closely with GTB Product Specialists, Global Banking and other stakeholders to deliver integrated solutions.  This is a senior origination role responsible for driving franchise growth, commercial outcomes and establishing Santander as a leading GTB partner for Financial Sponsors in Asia.

Key Responsibilities

Client Coverage & Franchise Development

• Develop and manage strategic relationships with Financial Sponsors and their portfolio companies across Asia Pacific.
• Strengthen Santander's market position and expand wallet share through proactive client engagement.
• Position Santander as a trusted GTB partner throughout the investment lifecycle.

Business Origination & Execution

• Originate GTB opportunities across cash management, trade finance, working capital and structured solutions.
• Identify and execute opportunities arising from acquisitions, portfolio company growth, refinancing and infrastructure investments.
• Partner with Coverage and Product teams to deliver integrated client solutions and drive revenue growth.

Strategic Leadership

• Act as GTB Asia Pacific's lead representative for the Financial Sponsors sector.
• Contribute market insights, sector strategy and business development initiatives.
• Foster collaboration across regional and global stakeholders to enhance client outcomes.

Requirement

Experience

• Minimum 10 years of relevant banking experience.
• Strong industry knowledge (sub-sectors in focus: Tech and Power & Energy) with access and creditability with global financial sponsors in the region.
• Proven ability to originate and execute complex transactions.
• Established relationships with senior decision-makers at Financial Sponsors and portfolio companies.
• Infrastructure and project finance knowledge is highly preferred.
