What you’ll do:
- Seeking a motivated and dynamic individual to join our team as Assistant Controller of EverPeak. This person must be a self-starter who can work in changing environments and bring finance and accounting expertise to business partners. The individual will be responsible for internal accounting and analyze results, develop and maintain accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements. The individual will be involved in establishing accounting processes for newly established and acquired subsidiaries and integrating current processes.
What you can expect:
- Manage and/or perform internal accounting to produce accurate and timely financial reporting; review accounting reconciliations, transactions and reports for accuracy
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable and cash management functions to ensure compliance with internal practices
- Oversee external audits and assist with internal audits and implementation of controls as appropriate
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements impacting accounting and liaise with legal and human resource partners
- Collaborate with Pinnacol and EverPeak team members on consolidation accounting
- Manage finance integration for acquisitions and newly formed subsidiaries
- Manage financial planning process and operating budget process for subsidiaries and provide variance analyses
- Oversee general ledger application setup and applicable ancillary systems, such as accounts payable
- Assist with developing and presenting financial packages and results to senior management
- Conduct accounting guidance research on relevant topics and provide recommendations on application to management
- Identify and implement new process as needed and maintain adequate controls over current processes
- Responsible for all management functions with direct reports including hiring, performance management, training, coaching, etc
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
- Other duties as assigned.
What you need to be successful:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Seven years of accounting/finance experience required with an emphasis on statutory and GAAP accounting in the insurance industry strongly preferred.
- Must have strong attention to detail and ability to perform analyses while focusing on the big picture.
- Must be able to take business concepts and translate them to assess finance impact
- Must have ability to lead projects, manage priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Must have strong presentation and written communication skills.
- Must have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional team
- Must be self-motivated and able to adapt to changing environments.
- CPA certification and public accounting experience is strongly preferred.
- Management or supervisory experience required

The compensation amount for this role is targeted at $130,400 to $151,500. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including your experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.
