Job Description

This on-site role requires reporting to GM Heritage Center and Archive in Grand Blanc, Michigan, as well as occasional reporting to Factory One in Flint, Michigan, at least four times per week. As a key member of GM’s Heritage Operations team, the Events Coordinator will serve as the front-line point of contact and manage all aspects of the reservation and booking process for the new GM Heritage Center and Factory One.  This position is an exciting, newly created position that will allow an individual to be a part of a dynamic and unique opportunity to launch a special destination for GM employees.  This role demands strong judgment, cross-functional collaboration, and proactive problem-solving.  This person will work closely with a team to help create outstanding customer experience for our employees and the greater Southeast and Mid-Michigan communities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the first and main point of contact for all groups wanting to utilize the Heritage Center and Factory One for meetings, tours and events, both internal and external
• Exercise independent judgment to review, approve, and provide suggestions on all requests
• Make independent decisions based upon judgement but also confidently seek guidance as needed
• Manage contract creation and storage of contracts, including occasional payments
• Possess an unwavering commitment towards creating outstanding customer experience
• Execute friendly, professional and consistent communications with both customers as well as internal team members
• Contribute to the development of processes and process improvement
• Maintain and track all utilization metrics
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports for team to utilize for efficient management
• Provide light Audio/Video support for events
• Become a master user of Google Workspace as well as other software programs
• Work hand in hand with Events Manager to ensure all events are executed to the highest level
• Supports other Heritage Operations priorities as needed while maintaining accountability for core event-operations outcomes

Required Qualifications:

• Strong familiarity with Google based workspace solutions especially Google Calendar and Google docs, among others
• 1-3 years of relevant experience in customer service, administration, communications, marketing, or related fields.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in marketing, communications, Public Relations, or automotive industry disciplines.
• Proven ability to work independently within broad guidelines, handling non-routine challenges and driving cross-team initiatives.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a track record of proposing innovative solutions and anticipating business needs.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt style for diverse audiences and influence decisions across functions.
• An enthusiasm to embrace initial ambiguity as well as a strong desire to help create and lead new processes
