THE ROLE

This Co-op experience provides participants with meaningful, relevant work experience as part of their academic studies. In addition to daily responsibilities, participants will have the opportunity to participate in a series of structured activities designed to enhance their learning experience including:

At the conclusion of this position, co-ops will have increased their knowledge of investing, the mutual fund industry, employee engagement, and a firm understanding of how event management works at an asset manager.

MFS co-op positions are a 6-month commitment, working Monday – Friday (beginning on Wednesday, January 13th through Friday June 25th, 2027), and work between 35-40 hours.  Our program is designed for undergraduate students who are currently enrolled in a co-op program through their college or university and can meet our requirements.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

This individual will work closely with and under the supervision of senior event planners to support all event activities from pre-event planning to post event follow-up (70%).  Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Support Event Management team in the coordination and planning of meetings and events. Primary focus will be for US events with some focus on global events.

• Event Production support including database entry to produce mailing labels, name tags, desk name plates, mail merge, shipping etc.

• Email communication, telephone and in-person interactions with meeting attendees and vendors to provide information and/or to comply with special requests.

• Work with Technical /AV Event Production team on special projects/ad hoc requests and help maintain project files (10%).

• Learnings will include site research, vendor contract negotiation, detailing banquet orders, creating event resumes, coordinating AV needs, communicating with stakeholders, budget management.

• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook and excel

• Standard hours are regular business hours (Monday – Friday, 9:00 A.M.-5:00 P.M), however, there may be rare occasion when this individual is needed to work early mornings and/or evenings to support an event.  There may also be a need to be onsite at local events held at nearby hotels or venues.  Notice will be given as far in advance as possible.

Hourly Pay Rate: $21.00-$25.00
