About the Role

As an Events and Outreach Volunteer, you'll play an important role in helping Aquarius raise awareness of our services within local communities. You'll support the delivery of community outreach activities, attend health and wellbeing events, and help people access the information and support they need.

Working alongside our Outreach Team, you'll engage with members of the public, professionals, schools and partner organisations, promoting the work of Aquarius and offering brief interventions and signposting where appropriate. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive difference while developing your communication, engagement and community outreach skills.

Key Duties

• Represent Aquarius at community events, awareness campaigns and health and wellbeing initiatives.
• Promote Aquarius services and increase awareness of the support available across local communities.
• Support the planning, preparation and delivery of outreach and promotional events.
• Engage confidently with members of the public, young people and professionals, providing information and signposting to appropriate services.
• Deliver brief interventions where appropriate, with training and support provided.
• Complete questionnaires and gather feedback to support service development and community engagement.
• Build positive relationships with partner organisations and community stakeholders.
• Act as a positive ambassador for Aquarius, demonstrating our values at all times.
• Work collaboratively with the Outreach Team to support community-based activities.
• Attend training, supervision sessions and volunteer meetings to develop your knowledge and skills.

About You

We're looking for someone who is enthusiastic about supporting their local community and passionate about helping people access the right support. You don't need previous experience in health and social care—we'll provide all the training you need—but you should be confident engaging with a wide range of people and committed to representing Aquarius professionally.

You'll also have:

• A friendly, approachable and non-judgemental attitude.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Confidence speaking with members of the public, young people and professionals.
• Good organisational skills and a reliable approach to volunteering.
• The ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
• An understanding of the importance of equality, diversity and inclusion.
• A willingness to learn, accept feedback and work as part of a supportive team.
• The ability to use your own initiative while knowing when to seek guidance.
• A genuine desire to make a positive difference in local communities.
