JOB SUMMARY
This person will support the construction project team with safe and on-time loading/unloading of vehicles, equipment and materials to various construction sites, regularly operating a 1-ton truck and trailer. This job will require the use of a computer to track and document.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Utilize positive communication skills to work in a respectful team environment.
- Load, secure, deliver and unload equipment to field locations using 1-ton truck & trailer (Class A CDL Required).
- Perform light vehicle & equipment maintenance duties, including daily refueling and cleaning.
- Document & log repair, maintenance, and delivery records.
- Operate large & small equipment with the purpose of loading/unloading and moving to job site.
- Maintain a detailed log of working hours in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and reports
- Will share weekly on-call rotation duties with other employees covering night/weekend emergency needs.
REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Must be generally proficient in the basics of using a computer.
- Ability to lift or manipulate some heavy objects.
- Demonstrate proper use & safety of large & small equipment and vehicles.
QUALIFICATIONS & LICENSING & EXPERIENCE
- Valid Class A CDL with an acceptable motor vehicle record.
- Current DOT medical examiner's certificate; minimum 21 years of age.
- Must pass pre-employment screening and participate in DOT drug and alcohol testing, including random, post-accident, and FMCSA Clearinghouse.
- Two years related experience preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. The role requires extended periods of sitting and driving, repeated climbing in and out of the cab and on and off trailers, bending, kneeling, and working outdoors in all weather conditions on uneven ground.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & SCHEDULE
Full-time, hourly (non-exempt). Work is performed in the equipment yard and on active construction sites, with early start times and occasional overtime or weekend work based on project schedules.
