The Position

As part of the Enterprise Center of Excellence (eCoE), you will be at the heart of Roche Finance. We are a global network of diverse experts representing our three divisions: Pharmaceutical, Diagnostics, and Group functions. By combining deep financial expertise with a passion for digital innovation, we are shaping the next generation of hybrid finance leaders who are uniquely positioned across the entire value chain - from R&D to Commercial - sensing business needs to bridge local operations with global strategy while driving digital transformation in finance. Through financial stewardship and enterprise insights, we empower our partners to make more informed decisions, ultimately, delivering better outcomes for patients.

The Opportunity

As the Africa SPOC, you closely partner with the Area FMs for Africa and lead FP&A activities within the assigned areas. You are part of the eCOE Pharma Commercial Finance network

The key deliverables of the role include:

• Executive Storytelling: Synthesize complex data into clear, compelling narratives for leadership, focusing on area performance for Africa, commitments, and variances.

• Proactive Analysis: Use deep financial expertise and analytics to identify trends and risks early, providing strategic recommendations to Area Finance Heads

• Cycle Management: Lead process for all end-to-end financial cycles (Business Planning, MTOs, T0, etc.), managing the annual calendar and ensuring a "single source of truth" across Africa

• Continuous improvements & scalability: Challenge the current ways of working. Actively apply Digital and AI solution and Identify standardization and automation opportunities to increase speed and value

• Strategic Partnership: Collaborate across Areas to align on financial stewardship and provide high-impact presentations for key executive events. Bring together the Disease Area and the geographic perspective for the assigned areas

• Enterprise Mindset and connectivity: Providing clarity & transparency on the overall Pharma International context to identify the Areas contribution to broader PI

• Resource allocation: Actively prioritize workpackages and shift focus towards highest impact opportunities. Flex according to needs of the area and constantly re-prioritize

• Contribute, lead and drive eCOE OBC outcomes as well as FINET sponsored workpackages 

Who you are

• At least 5 years experience in a multinational environment paired with a master's or equivalent degree in finance or accounting

• Previous experience in a commercial affiliates (Pharma or DIA) is considered a plus

• Strong financial and business acumen, leadership and influencing

• Entrepreneurial spirit and curiosity that is inspirational to others 

• passionate about emerging markets and cultural adaptability

• Ability to make an impact in a virtual and global team environment

• Resilience and ability to adjust to a fast-changing environment and to promote and apply the VACC leadership principles
