Job Title: Engineering Senior Manager - Database  

Location: Bangalore-Manyata Tech Park 

Business & Team:  CTO - Database Team

Impact & Contribution:  Senior Engineering Manager – Database and DevSecOps enablement Crew.  Accountable for leading engineering teams, developing engineering talent, driving technical strategy, and delivering business outcomes through technology. 

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Lead, coach and develop Engineering Managers, Chapter Leads, and engineers. 

• Drive performance, career development, succession planning, and engagement. 

• Foster a culture of psychological safety, accountability, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence. 

• Build and maintain diverse, high-performing teams.  

• Set technical direction and engineering standards. 

• Ensure high-quality software, platform reliability, security, observability, and operational excellence. 

• Guide architectural decisions and resolution of complex technical challenges. 

• Promote automation, engineering productivity, and reduction of technical debt.  

• Own delivery outcomes across multiple teams or domains. 

• Align engineering priorities with business strategy and customer outcomes. 

• Manage risks, dependencies, and operational resilience. 

• Drive predictable execution and continuous improvement of engineering practices.  

• Partner with Product Owners, business leaders, architects, risk teams, and executive stakeholders. 

• Communicate strategy, priorities, risks, and delivery progress effectively. 

• Influence decisions across organisational boundaries.  

• Ensure compliance with engineering, security, operational risk, and regulatory requirements. 

• Maintain appropriate controls and governance frameworks. 

• Champion better risk outcomes and operational resilience.  

  Essential Skills:

• Minimum 12-15 Years of experience across DB, Infrastructure and solutions

• Strategic thinking and organisational leadership

• Software/platform engineering expertise

• Change leadership and transformation delivery 

• AI and data literacy 

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills  

• Good understanding of AWS RDS, Oracle, NoSQL DB, and experience in migrating DB from on prim to AWS. 

Education Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in engineering in Computer Science/Information Technology.
