We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Manufacturing Process Sustaining Engineer to maintain, control, and continuously improve manufacturing processes for optical and photonic products.
This role is responsible for ensuring process stability, resolving production issues, improving product quality and yield, and optimizing existing processes to achieve production, delivery, and cost objectives.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge, analytical and problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing Process Sustaining
- Monitor manufacturing-process performance using SPC and other analytical tools.
- Maintain process stability and ensure manufacturing processes meet production, quality, and cost targets.
- Review manufacturing information and traceability records for accuracy and compliance.
- Provide timely technical support to production operators and technicians.
Troubleshooting & Problem Solving
- Troubleshoot process, yield, quality, material, and equipment-related issues.
- Conduct root-cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Analyze production data to identify process trends, deviations, and improvement opportunities.
- Work with relevant teams to ensure corrective actions are completed effectively.
Process Improvement & Operational Excellence
- Develop, validate, and implement process improvements.
- Improve product quality and yield while reducing defects, cycle time, and manufacturing costs.
- Lead or support Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous-improvement activities.
- Support automation and manufacturing-efficiency improvement initiatives.
New Product & Process Introduction
- Support new product introduction and transfer processes from development to mass production.
- Collaborate with R&D, NPI, Production, Quality, and Equipment Engineering teams.
- Support process qualification, validation, pilot builds, and production ramp-up.
- Identify manufacturing risks and establish appropriate process controls.
Documentation & Compliance
- Develop and maintain process specifications, work instructions, control plans, and Engineering Change Orders.
- Ensure manufacturing processes comply with quality systems, operational procedures, and customer requirements.
- Support internal, external, and customer audits as required.
- Ensure compliance with safety, ESD, cleanroom, and company requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in manufacturing, process, or sustaining engineering.
- Experience in optical, photonic, electronics, semiconductor, or high-technology manufacturing is preferred.
- Knowledge of SPC, RCA, CAPA, FMEA, DOE, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma.
- Strong troubleshooting, data-analysis, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prepare and maintain technical and manufacturing documentation.
- Good cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.
- Good command of English communication.

Working Conditions
- Work in office, engineering laboratory, cleanroom, and manufacturing-floor environments.
- Personal protective equipment and cleanroom garments may be required.
- Occasional overtime or support outside normal working hours may be required depending on production needs
