About the Opportunity 

The Decommissioning Alliance (TDA) is a strategic partnership, operating within the DNWP framework and delivering critical decommissioning work at Sellafield, including the UK’s most challenging Legacy Ponds facilities. As a key partner within DNWP, TDA contributes to Sellafield Ltd.’s mission while ensuring communities, supply chains, and stakeholders benefit from meaningful, measurable Social Value outcomes.

The Decommissioning Alliance (TDA) is seeking an experienced Electrical Works Controller to support the safe and successful delivery of the Retrievals East River Project at Sellafield. Acting as the key interface between TDA, the client, subcontractors, and project stakeholders, you will oversee electrical construction activities, ensuring compliance with nuclear safety standards, programme requirements, and regulatory obligations. Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will provide discipline-specific leadership across construction delivery, health and safety, quality, and stakeholder coordination within a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate electrical construction activities in compliance with CDM regulations, site licence conditions, and TDA procedures.

• Ensure Safe Systems of Work (SSoW) are developed, reviewed, implemented, and controlled effectively.

• Promote a strong health, safety, and nuclear safety culture, ensuring all incidents and near misses are reported and managed appropriately.

• Verify workforce competency and ensure all personnel are Suitably Qualified and Experienced Persons (SQEP).

• Monitor construction progress against programme milestones, identifying risks and implementing mitigation measures.

• Liaise with project teams, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve technical, resource, and delivery challenges.

• Participate in constructability reviews, HAZOPs, HAZCONs, progress meetings, and project planning activities.

• Support lessons learned reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Maintain accurate project documentation and records to support quality assurance, compliance, and lifetime records.

Here's What You'll Need:

• Electrical discipline qualification.

• NVQ Level 5 (or equivalent).

• IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent).

• CSCS Black Manager Card.

• Experience working at Sellafield or within a similarly highly regulated industry.

• Proven experience supervising and coordinating complex electrical construction activities.

• Strong understanding of CDM regulations, nuclear safety culture, and regulatory compliance.

• Experience within nuclear, defence, energy, or other high-hazard industrial environments.

• Site & Security Requirements

• Completion of relevant Sellafield nuclear safety and workplace risk awareness training.
