Über diese Electrical Engineering Design and Integration Manager Stelle bei Brookhaven National Laboratory

Brookhaven National Laboratory · Vor Ort · Upton, NY

Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) is the site for the new Electron-Ion Collider (EIC), a one-of-a-kind nuclear physics research facility.  The EIC will be a discovery machine for unlocking the secrets of the “glue” that binds the building blocks of visible matter in the universe. The machine design is based on the existing and highly optimized RHIC Ion-Ion collider.   It will consist of two intersecting accelerators, one producing an intense beam of electrons, the other a beam of protons or heavier atomic nuclei which are steered into collisions.  Beyond sparking scientific discoveries in a new frontier of fundamental physics, the Electron-Ion Collider will trigger technological breakthroughs that have broad-ranging impact on human health and national challenges.

Position Description

The Electrical Engineering Design and Integration Manager is a line-management role reporting directly to the EIC Power Supply Group Leader. • Identifying schedule or cost variances, determining root causes, and implementing corrective actions.

    • Coordinating closely with project controls, procurement, and other WBS managers to ensure accurate forecasting and planning.

  • Coordinate electrical integration activities ensuring compatibility with accelerator systems, magnets, controls, and facility infrastructure.

  • Contribute to the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning activities for general AC power distribution systems and power supplies.

  • Work collaboratively with multiple EIC technical teams, C‑AD groups, ES&H staff, and F&O personnel to ensure safe, coordinated, and efficient execution of electrical work.

  • Develop and enforce engineering standards, design practices, documentation, and safety procedures.
