We are looking for an Electrical Engineer based in Overath, Germany.
We have a Hybrid setup, working model, you can work 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.
The Electrical Engineer is part of a multidisciplinary team consisting of mechanical, electrical and PLC engineers as well as project managers, designers, sales, application engineers, and new product development (NPD) on our Engineered to Order (ETO) and Configure to Order (CTO) businesses.
The Electrical Engineer will have a variety of responsibilities that include working through technical control details, designing control circuits, sizing conductors, overcurrent protection and components, drawing schematics and panel layout in AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN, creating work standards, working with the internal team, vendors and contractors on electrical design of equipment and systems.
Success in this position requires the candidate to work effectively in both a collaborative and independent environment, must be safety conscious, good communication skills is a must both internally and externally with customers, high attention to detail is critical and have a strong motivation for delivering project objectives.
Key responsibilities of the role:
- Creating electrical schematics with AutoCAD Electrical and/or EPLAN engineering tools
- Manage customer electrical equipment projects
- Provide technical support to Vilter's PLC controls platform
- Support team members on electrical system product improvements and standards
- Serve as subject matter expert and work directly with customers to troubleshoot issues and provide product training
- Read and interpret electrical schematics as well as piping and instrumentation drawings
Required qualifications and experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 5 – 10 years of electrical controls and design experience.
- Knowledge of IEC standards relevant for low-voltage design of industrial grade power and control panels.
- Must be a self-starter, work autonomously, see projects through on time with the first time right.
- Firm understanding of electrical controls and logic.
- Knowledge and experience with power and motor control circuits, motors, motor starters and VFDs.
- Must have a firm understanding of how to read and interpret electrical schematics as well as piping and instrumentation drawings.
- In depth experience and proficient with AutoCAD Electrical and/or EPLAN engineering tools.
- Proficiency in English.
- Occasional international travel to vendor sites.
- Must have excellent organizational skills.
- Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
Preferred qualifications and experience:
- Experience within electrical design for industrial compressors and/or refrigeration and heat pumps.
- PLC programming experience is valuable.
- Masters in Electrical Engineering.
