Job Summary:

Acquires echocardiographic data using transthoracic transducer acquisition with the patient at rest under the supervision and/or direction of a physician Work includes morphologic imaging, assessment of myocardial function, recording of hemodynamic parameters, visualization of blood flow. Independently performs stress echocardiographic testing. May perform and administer contrast imaging under the direction of a cardiologist. Engages in teaching others echocardiographic skills.

Key Responsibilities:
• Reviews Echocardiology exam requests and patient identification to ensure safe, appropriate and cost-effective imaging.
• Applies broad range of skills to ensure exam is completed timely and meets quality and compliance standards.
• Performs echocardiography for patients with congenital heart problems standards.
• Demonstrates skill in acquiring clear images on clinically complex patients.
• May be designated as an interim shift lead in the absence of the Supervisor.
• Assists in the orientation and training of new staff.

• Echocardiography Technology (Intermediate): Demonstrates mastery of echocardiography technology in practical applications of a difficult nature. Possesses sufficient knowledge, training, and experience to be capable of successfully delivering results without requiring support and instruction from others. Able to train and educate by setting the example, giving instruction, providing leadership, and generally raising the level of performance of others while on the job.
• Diagnostic Equipment (Intermediate): Demonstrates knowledge of diagnostic equipment. Capable of successfully finding and resolving problems using diagnostic tools without requiring support and instruction from others.
