What You’ll Get to Do
The Class A Driver safely transports and unloads glass and metal products to OBE customers across local and overnight routes. This role interacts daily with customers, ensures load securement, and supports multiple route types—including Chicago and Iowa overnights—while reporting directly to the Fleet Manager.
This position is ideal for a safety‑focused, self‑motivated CDL A professional who is flexible with start times and comfortable with sleeper‑cab overnight work. As a key member of the Fleet Department, this is an opportunity to build a long-term career with an industry leader.
Job Responsibilities Include:

Day‑to‑day activities include handling, inspecting, and unloading glass and/or metal products, verifying load securement, performing daily pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections, and completing multiple deliveries.

Unloading may include loose glass, boxed glass, and racked glass, as well as operating crane systems mounted on trailers.

Drivers ensure proper load securement, adding straps as needed and confirming safe configuration before departure.

Regular and predictable attendance, safe task performance, and strict adherence to DOT regulations, OBE safety policies, and Critical Safety Rules are essential functions of the role.

Customer interaction is frequent; drivers help resolve delivery issues and maintain strong customer relationships.
What We Are Looking For

Must meet all DOT requirements, including an unexpired Medical Examiner’s Certificate.

Flexibility with start times

Ability to read and interpret glass measurements, delivery schedules, and effectively use a tape measure.

Must be able to read, write, and speak English.

Strong customer service skills and professional communication.

Ability to safely unload product using crane systems and within the 75‑lb lifting limit.
