We are seeking an experienced Drilling Rig Foreman to join the Unconventional Resources Drilling Department (URDD). The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising and overseeing the daily operations of land drilling and workover rigs performing programmed activities on deep or critical wells, including wells ranging from approximately 18,000 to 23,000 feet.
The Drilling Rig Foreman will ensure that all drilling and workover activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company requirements, Saudi Aramco safety standards, applicable procedures, and contractual obligations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and oversee daily drilling and workover rig operations.
- Ensure all rig personnel, contractors, and service providers comply with Saudi Aramco safety standards and requirements.
- Monitor and supervise all operations performed on the well site.
- Ensure drilling and workover activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved programs and procedures.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the company and the drilling/workover contractor.
- Administer and monitor contractor compliance with all contractual requirements.
- Coordinate the delivery of well materials, equipment, and other required resources to ensure availability when needed.
- Make recommendations regarding alternative methods, procedures, or equipment when unusual or challenging situations arise.
- Work closely with Drilling and Workover Engineers to ensure that modern and approved drilling practices are followed.
- Review and approve the contractor’s daily tour reports.
- Ensure that the contractor’s rig and equipment are properly maintained to minimize downtime.
- Ensure compliance with Saudi Aramco Blowout Prevention (BOP) standards, including equipment configuration, testing, and crew response.
- Ensure that all rig personnel are properly trained and prepared to respond to well control and emergency situations.
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with safety, operational, and contractual requirements.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as directed by the supervisor or superintendent.
Requirements
- Minimum 13 years of relevant experience in drilling and workover operations, including supervisory experience on a drilling or workover rig; or a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience in land drilling and workover operations, preferably involving deep or critical wells.
- Strong experience in supervising drilling rig crews, contractors, and service providers.
- Good knowledge of well control operations and Blowout Prevention (BOP) standards, including equipment configuration, testing, and crew response.
- Strong understanding of Saudi Aramco safety standards, HSE requirements, and drilling/workover procedures.
- Willingness to work in remote locations and mobile camps on a 28 days on / 28 days off rotational schedule, working 12 hours per day.
