Relocation assistance is offered for this position.

Lead the Social Responsibility strategy and execution across APAC and China, driving meaningful social impact while strengthening business relevance and long-term brand value.

The role will be responsible for developing and executing a multi-year regional Social Responsibility strategy, balancing regional consistency with the unique needs and opportunities of the LEGO Group’s most strategic growth markets, including China and specific countries across APAC.

As Director, Social Responsibility, you will lead a diverse regional team responsible for a high-impact portfolio spanning community engagement, strategic partnerships, global programme activation, and place-based initiatives. You will foster innovation and scale by identifying emerging social trends, building cross-sector partnerships, and translating regional insights into global learning.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver the APAC & China Social Responsibility strategy aligned with global priorities and regional business ambitions.

  • Lead regional portfolio, including APAC & China, ensuring an appropriate balance between market-specific priorities and regional opportunities.

  • Evolve the regional portfolio in partnership with other regional leads in Americas and EMEA to integrate local community engagement, strategic partnerships, and global program activation.

  • Position Social Responsibility as a strategic business enabler by partnering closely with cross-functional teams across commercial, brand, communications, government and public affairs, HR, manufacturing, retail, and more.

  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with NGOs, governments, academia, social enterprises, and ecosystem partners across the region.

  • Identify emerging societal trends, policy developments, and innovation opportunities that can strengthen both business strategy and social impact.

  • Ensure effective governance, portfolio prioritization, impact measurement, and resource allocation across the region.

  • Foster collaboration across markets and with global teams to increase capability sharing, operational efficiency, and scalability.

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing regional team while building future capabilities aligned with the organization's strategic direction.

  • Represent the LEGO Group externally as a trusted leader in social responsibility across APAC and China.

Contribute as a member of the global Social Responsibility Leadership Team, shaping enterprise priorities and sharing regional innovation to influence global strategy.

This role is accountable for shaping and delivering a regionally integrated portfolio that addresses local societal needs, enables commercial priorities, and advances the LEGO Group's ambition to build Playful Communities. Strengthening governance, operational excellence, and measurement across the region to ensure resources are prioritized effectively, investments generate measurable outcomes, and successful models can be scaled across markets.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Significant senior leadership experience in Social Responsibility, Sustainability, Corporate Affairs, Public Affairs, Community Investment, or a related field within a multinational organization.

  • Demonstrated accountability for strategy, people, budgets, investment choices, delivery, and organizational outcomes at regional or equivalent scale.

  • Proven experience leading complex, multi-market portfolios across Asia, with substantial knowledge of both China and the wider APAC region. Brings a strong understanding of regional business environments, cultural and societal contexts, government and stakeholder landscapes and the differences between markets that must shape strategy and execution.

  • Demonstrated ability to translate social impact into business value and influence senior business leaders.

  • Strong strategic thinking with experience shaping long-term portfolios and organizational transformation.

  • Experience developing cross-sector partnerships with governments, NGOs, foundations, academia, and private sector organizations.

  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance social impact ambitions with business priorities.

  • Experience leading geographically dispersed teams and influencing across matrix organizations.

  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and executive influencing skills.

  • Willingness to travel across the region and internationally as required.
