The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As Director, Pricing Strategy and Governance Leader, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world.

Here, you will make an impact by:

• Building pricing as a core Transportation & Electronics Business Group commercial capability, including pricing strategy, governance, discount discipline, enablement, and decision support.
• Standing up the TEBG pricing operating model in the first 12 to 24 months, including governance, discount controls, value-based price architecture, analytics, NPI pricing discipline, and executive cadence.
• Partnering with GBS on enterprise standards, systems, controls, governed data, and reporting while supporting vertical leaders who retain price and margin accountability.
• Leading NPI pricing governance for Class 5, Class 4, and Class 3 launches, including value logic, margin case, launch guardrails, required approvals, and post-launch realization tracking. Equipping sales and business leaders with pricing playbooks, analytics, scorecards, training, and executive decision support to improve margin, price realization, and discount discipline.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher, completed and verified prior to start.
• Fifteen (15) years of pricing, finance, commercial strategy, or related experience in a private, public, government, or military environment.
• Ten (10) years of pricing leadership experience, including building or maturing pricing functions within enterprise standards and business-specific execution models.
• Ten (10) years of experience with value-based pricing, segmented pricing models, margin analytics, elasticity modeling, and deal economics across global regions.
• Ten (10) years' experience influencing cross-functional partners such as GBS, Finance, Sales, Marketing, and business leaders without direct authority.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Master’s degree in business, finance, economics, marketing, engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Industrial, manufacturing, or B2B distribution pricing experience, including OEM and channel or distributor dynamics.
• Experience with pricing software such as Pricefx, Vendavo, PROS, or similar platforms.
• Exposure to tariff, foreign exchange, cost-of-goods, or other trigger-based pricing environments.
• Executive presence, commercial judgment, and the credibility to enforce discount discipline while creating simple, clear accountability across GBS, CE&C, and vertical leaders

Work location:

• This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least four days a week at the 3M Center in Maplewood, MN.

Travel: May include up to 30% domestic and/or international travel.

Relocation: May be authorized

This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
