We are seeking a highly motivated candidate for the position of Head of Corporate Functions Technology to be part of the regional technology team in MUFG under the applications development and support department. The role reports to the Head of Department (Information technology)

The successful candidate will be part of a growing dynamic regional team that in charge of managing all the technology solutions that are used by our employees and corporate customers of the bank.

The role oversees the corporate functions systems used in the bank to support the HR, Compliance, Risk, Finance, Procurement and Regulatory reporting functions for APAC. The applications used would be a mix of in-house developed solutions and 3rd party package solutions deployed on-premises or on the Cloud.

Job Responsibilities:

• Liaise with the business stakeholders to understand their priorities and strategy to align the technology solutions and roadmap accordingly.
• Engage with the other department heads in technology for enterprise architecture, AI & Data, Information Security and infrastructure to ensure the roadmap for the corporate functions’ portfolio is aligned to their strategy for technology.
• Work closely with the vendors, business units and where necessary the regulatory counterparts to map the changes in the regulatory landscape across APAC into regional solutions that can be scaled to fulfil the requirements across branches.
• Work with the enterprise architecture and data team in technology to look into existing solutions and how they can be enhanced and consolidated into a common data model for regulatory reporting.
• Liaise with the HO and technology teams in other regions to facilitate implementation of solutions that are in compliance with the APAC business and technology requirements.
• Manage the technology risks and vulnerabilities associated with the solutions in the portfolio.
• Play the lead role during incidents to look at service restoration and remediation activities working closely with the required application team to ensure systems are recovered within the stipulated SLA’s
• Liaise with the different technology teams on the application and infrastructure side to ensure all interfaces to internal and external systems are functioning without disruption
• Build the regional team distributed across locations to support the applications in the portfolio to ensure technology team have the required functional and technical expertise to support the business requirements.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 18 Years of experience in corporate bank technology (applications domain) with specific knowledge in implementing standard regulatory reporting solutions in APAC.
• Proven experience in looking at the data elements that constitute the basis for regulatory reporting to structure a common regional database to serve countries across the region
• Demonstrated experience working with the business stakeholders, solution providers and other technology members to put in place solutions that fulfil regional requirements while eliminating OR minimizing the need for customization.
• Prove ability to program manage a diverse applications portfolio that spans the corporate functions of the bank to support multiple business stakeholders.
• Have experience leading teams working onsite and offshore to build their domain and technical competency to support the businesses with solutions.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills. Should be able to get into the details of issues to guide the team with remediation.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
• Strong planning, organizational and time management skills
• Knowledge in budgeting and managing investment and expenses for the application portfolio.
• Experience in software development lifecycle (SDLC) and exposure to Agile methodology
