About the Finance Department 

Finance leads Bridgewater’s financial strategy and serves as a strategic advisor to businesses across the firm. We partner with leaders to translate strategy into financially sound plans, evaluate growth opportunities, and make informed decisions about how to allocate capital. Our work builds financial resilience and drives long-term shareholder value, supported by rigorous analysis, reporting, and controls. About Your Role 

Bridgewater’s Tax Department is looking for a determined and agile Tax Director to join a team of problem solvers who handle tax compliance and reporting matters, support company transactions, and other initiatives and who is seeking to bring transformative ideas for process improvements. The Tax Director will be a key player in the management of tax compliance projects by pairing solid partnership tax fundamentals with project management skills, will be a subject matter expert on the application of partnership tax provisions to Bridgewater initiatives and will actively collaborate with professionals across the firm to ensure Bridgewater is meeting its goals. What You’ll Do 

• Managing federal, state, and local tax compliance and reporting for the firm’s operating partnership structure and other affiliated entities 
• Providing technical expertise, knowledge, and research to address complex partnership tax issues 
• Applying Section 704(b)/(c) allocation principles and maintaining partner capital accounts 
• Knowledge of Section 754 elections and related Section 743(b) and 734(b) basis adjustments 
• Advising on the tax treatment of partner-related transactions, including allocations, redemptions, and transfers 
• Driving tax compliance processes by partnering with the tax team and other stakeholders 
• Preparing and reviewing tax workpapers and reconciliations, including gathering and validating the underlying financial information and tax adjustments 
• Collaborating with third party return preparers and advisors to support tax reporting positions 
• Designing and facilitating tax process improvement projects 

Minimum Qualifications 

• 7-12 years of tax compliance experience with pass-throughs, partnerships, and corporations at the federal, state and local levels 
• The highest level of integrity and respect for confidential information  
• Strong verbal, written communication, organization skills  
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in fast paced environments 
• Ability to communicate complex tax matters to non-technical audiences  
• Proficiency with MS Office, including advanced Excel skills  
• Bachelor’s Degree required, CPA and/or JD preferred  

Physical Requirements 

The anticipated onsite requirement for this role is four days per week at our Westport CT campus.  

Compensation 

The wage range for this role is $260,000-$360,000, inclusive of base salary and discretionary target bonus. The expected base salary for this role is between 70% - 80% of this wage range.
