Über diese Digital Editor Company Director Stelle bei News Corp Australia

News Corp Australia · Hybrid · NSW - SHS 2 Holt Street Surry Hills

What's the role?

Step into a high-impact editorial position and shape the digital narrative for one of Australia's most influential business voices. Medium Rare is seeking a performance-driven Digital Editor to lead the digital ecosystem for our flagship client, the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD). You will collaborate closely with the Editorial Director to act as the key editorial contact for the brand's digital channels, ensuring all outputs perfectly align with client objectives and brand voice.

Commencing in early/mid December for a comprehensive handover before you officially take the reins in January, this 12-month parental leave contract is a rare opportunity to fuse sharp editorial judgment with high-level strategic vision. You will architect a powerful publishing strategy that connects with audiences across web, social, email, and audio - overseeing the creation of digital-first stories and the amplification of print and multimedia content. Drawing on analytics, you will identify opportunities to refine performance, expand the client’s digital presence, and deliver meaningful engagement across their entire content portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, commissioning, writing, and editing of high-quality digital, social, and email content tailored specifically to the AICD audience.
  • Guide and optimise digital content across social media, driving performance and audience growth with a primary focus on LinkedIn.
  • Liaise closely with client stakeholders to pitch fresh ideas, gather requirements, and ensure content strategically aligns with business objectives.
  • Champion digital, social, video and audio best practices, mentoring team members while optimising content to rank in traditional and generative search (AEO).
  • Deliver comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reporting, translating raw data into expert analysis to guide future editorial planning.
  • Brief and seamlessly project manage multimedia and dynamic features

Who are you?

  • A seasoned professional bringing 7+ years of on-the-job experience in a senior digital or social role, ideally working with a business or finance brand.
  • An analytical creative proficient in Google/Adobe Analytics, SEMrush, Hootsuite, and CMS platforms, who can translate data into actionable insights.
  • An agile, autonomous self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and excels at managing multiple stakeholders and moving parts.
  • A strategic thinker who deeply grasps the nuances of search versus social, alongside the evolving necessities of modern SEO and AEO.
  • A versatile "doer" and leader who is equally comfortable interviewing talent, shooting a lo-fi mobile video, or briefing professional video and audio editors.
  • A natural problem-solver who intrinsically understands the sweet spot between what an audience wants to consume and the client's core business objectives.
